Excellent post DaisyAnn. I find the whole post-Brexit shenanigans so depressing. To put it bluntly, we are in a huge mess.

Who is going to pick the extra crops that the farmers are going to grow. It's strawberry time - who's picking those? Has the man with the large tunnel covered farm in Kent got enough people to pick all the food that he grows? Perhaps he's not actually growing so much this year because of the lack of pickers.

Angus Robertson,just back from Brussels with news that Europe is keen to be involved in Scotlands renewables and Hydrogen energy .All we need to do is leave the UK .Scotland s GDP is over £17000 as opposed to the UK's £8k .We're a viable economy and much more aligned to the EU than to WM .I'm so sad for the people down south who dont have the choice we have to leave the disunited kingdom and thrive .Lets hope enough Unionists can see the light and vote YES next year ,why would anyone prefer to see their country fail at the hands of their neighbour

A man from the railway union said this morning, that "dealing with the government, over the past few years, has been like dealing with the cast from the Apprentice". I'm afraid that is entirely possible to imagine.

All Boris has actually achieved regarding "Brexit" is to take us out of the EU. So, no "got Brexit done". Using grown-up words (the ones that mean the same to everyone), this government "took us out of the EU". However, they took us out without the agreement of the majority of people in this country and with an agreement even they don't think is good enough. This is an agreement that many in this country find is killing their business. They also managed to get very close to making enemies of even the mildest mannered of our nearest customers with their childish attacks on various countries and their leaders.

And, of course, it is they, the government, not just one man, who did these things. They elected him their leader; we, the country, did not. They allowed him to move their party to the far-right. They also put a banker in the Treasury who pays other bankers for taking the country's money.

Johnson, whose thinking is as chaotic as the way he dresses and does his hair, is toast. They will try then to do the six-year-old "it wasn't me it was him". But it was them. The Conservatives did this. Not for the greater good. Not for all the people but just for "people like them". People who are "not like them" are shamed because of who and what they are. These Conservatives have turned themselves into potential dictators; abusing our democracy whenever it gave them greater power.

So yes, we have a chaotic, childish, inapropriate government ... and we have people who actually decided that was what they wanted. Sadly, I am not convinced those people have learned anything while attempting to destroy people and the country.

Farmers still don’t know what the future policies for food production in the UK are going to be, Germany and other countries have back pedaled on green policies in reaction to higher priced imports.

With the high cost of fuel, fertilisers and other costs mean that even at the higher commodity prices there is no margin, crops are not going to be planted if they are set to loose money.

I read that article too. It's obvious that this Government is clueless and has no viable long term strategy on the economy, food production, or indeed anything else. However while we read the Guardian and Observer, many people believe the stuff peddled by the right wing press like the Daily Mail. Oh yes, Boris - a good bloke - he got Brexit done. Yes indeed he did (however he's about to rip up the Northern Ireland protocol - good luck with that!) - and it's the biggest act of economic self harm in generations.
