It’s not better in Wales. Cardiff is the wettest city in the UK, and the official wettest place is also in Wales. It’s Capel Curig, which is in the heart of Snowdonia. Boo, it’s not a record I’m proud of.

The rain certainly doesn’t seem to be affecting the tourists this year, it’s like Paddy’s market every day here (in fact it’s better for business when it rains as the cafes are busy and all the outdoor chops are thronged with people buying coats) - I’m sure it’s the same in Scotland as well.

Incidentally, that iconic bridge was finished on time, and under budget. It's used in Project Management courses as an example of a well run project.

Scottish govt couldn't even run the census. Transport? Don't make me laugh. That 'iconic bridge' wasn't finished on time, dangerously ices up etc etc. Rail timetables recently cut by half.

I don't know anyone personally who is in favour of Scottish independence but then, all my Scottish friends and acquaintances (and DH's relatives) left Scotland for work and other reasons and settled elsewhere years ago.

Yes, I'd prefer Scotland to remain but would respect the views of the majority in a referendum.

Thank you Petera for the details. I consider myself told (in a nice way). One way or another Indy2 won’t go away until it’s held. I for one have never thought ‘you’re too wee’ etc. I admit I’m not a fan of Nicola Sturgeon as I think the SNP’s governance has been abysmal (some even say this renewed vigour for another tilt at independence is a deflection) but I wish you all well. Truly. I get it.
