Scathing PM story pulled - have we lost ‘honest’ press!

Yesterday evening several papers’ report about Johnson’s efforts to get girlfriend Carrie into the top FO role against ministerial code, mysteriously ‘disappeared’ in later editions of the papers despite the authors claiming to have verified the reports with 4 MPs at the time.
Is this a sign of PM control of the press (in the style of Belusconi) or should we take Carol Cadwallader’s success in defeating Aron Banks’ Brexit lies as the future of UK press?
Fortunately social media never lets a ‘good’ story die!

The Guardian are printing what they know tomorrow, so it looks like attempts to suppress the story have failed.

Someone (can't remember who) said that if Johnson punched the Queen in public he would find a way to get away with it. That seemed comically outrageous at the time, but I'm not so sure now.

There hasn't been an honest press /media in the UK for decades ,since Rupert Murdoch appeared .
Murdoch the man who said he can get what he wants from Downing Street but not from the EU ..which is why he was so keen on brexit.
The manount of misinformation on TV and Radio and in newspapers is unbelieveable .If you do some fact checking you find out that almost evrything is spun to suit someone ...and not told how it is, because they dont want the public to know the truth.

I agree Paddyann54. You can piece together the facts, but it does take some effort, and sadly a lot of people don’t bother to do that for themselves so are in blissful ignorance.

You are so right Paddyann

Since Harold Wilson was elected PM in 1974 there has not been a single PM elected in a general election without the support of Rupert Murdoch (an Australian citizen living in the US)

We could have saved a lot of money and hassle by not having elections and just saying"Please Mr Murdoch who do you want to be Prime Minister?"

I’m not sure if it shows our ignorance or the medias power to tell us what to think.

I do think social media helps and for sure that is where my children get their information, although my son who is politically minded has come off Facebook because there is such rubbish on there apparently.

There are on line publications not run by the billionaire press barons and it is more useful to get your information from these.
