What a tragedy. Why did they sign this agreement yesterday if they intended to carry out this attack just hours later? Are they trying to demonstrate that there is no point in ever trying to negotiate?

Many years ago on a bus tour of New York, we spoke to a middle aged couple and their family who were from Kansas. I don’t know how, but I remembered Kansas was one of the ‘bread basket’ states. The chap seemed quite impressed with my knowledge, then as we passed the UN building, he pointed at the flags asked ‘say, are you guys in this?’ Left me speechless!

Good news indeed - a tiny glimmer in the dark.

I confess to being a UN fan and toured the Geneva HQ many years ago. It was awe-inspiring seeing all the different flags flying outside.
