Not me saying this, the headline in the Times today. Inflation predicted to rise to 15 percent, energy bills/cost of living, not to mention drought and the climate emergency. Yet the government are MIA. I'm thinking that maybe we do need a general election, although I am wondering where Starmer is in all this.

It's like watching a slow motion domino run; each day a new warning of ever harder times to come for millions of ordinary people, food banks are begging for donations and interest rates will cripple families and risk making them homeless. Meanwhile, the fuel companies count their ever increasing piles of profits and our "leaders" are nowhere to be seen.

And there are still people (including some on GN) defending the profits made by the energy companies.

I've just had a thought - those MPs who are doing nothing about the excess profits will be hoping for a seat on the board once they lose their seats in the HOC come the next election.

Profiteering on the backs of their captured customers.

Dinahmo the days of putting MPs on the boards of public companies as a reward, are gone.

Working directors need to have a had a long career in industry before being reported and shareholders these days are very happy to query and stop the appointment of non-execs that cannot justify their presence on th board.
