I agree GrannyGravy13
If we can’t build enough, let’s have specific wings as we do for section 43 vulnerable prisoners

Trans only prisons for trans offenders

I’m more concerned about the impact on women of having this individual imprisoned with them. So many female prisoners have abuse histories, associated mental health problems, substance dependence etc. they shouldn’t have to put up with trans women who are sex offenders

I know it’s not right, but think what his life is going to be in a female prison. Don’t forget a lot of those women will have suffered abuse.
And believe me, no one is safe in prison irrespective of where your housed.

It makes no difference if the transwoman (man) has a Gender Recognition Certificate, or not.
It is legal for him to be excluded from female-only places.
So why do prison authorities continue to place men in women's prisons?

I'm so sick of seeing reports like this.

The Equality Act 2010 states that transwomen (males) can legally be excluded from single-sex places for women, if it is a proportionate means of achieving a legitimate aim.

That applies to prison accommodation where prisoners' safety and privacy from the opposite sex should be priorities .

Yet male criminals are routinely being housed in women's prisons.
