Queen Elizabeth the Queen mother was born at Belgrave Mansions, Grosvenor Gardens her parents London home or possibly Forbes House, the home of her maternal grandmother. She was certainly christened there. Her birth was registered in Hitchin, near the Strathmores country house, St Pauls Waldon. She spent much of her childhood either at St Paul's, or Glamis Castle, the family ancestral home in Scotland. Her father was Lord Glamis later the 14th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne, in the peerage of Scotland.
