I went to Balmoral today

Such a gentle goodbye in the peace and tranquillity of the Scottish countryside -large banks of flowers and a steady stream of visitors both young and old. Two small girls clutching stems of sweet pea ‘for the Queen ‘cos she’s gone to heaven’; babies in prams, people in wheelchairs, they all came. As we arrived several members of the family returned from church - such sad and solemn faces.

Balmoral is so much smaller than BP that there was a real sense of quiet intimacy. Hats off to the police and local authority for arranging such a smooth operation in a very short tine scale.

Thank you for your lovely post. I had just been saying to DH we'd have gone there or London if we weren't so wonky
