Things King Charles might do

I was thinking that should the media be a bit slow in referring to Camilla as simply ‘The Queen’, I think he’ll start doing so. I also think he’ll do something to see him referred to as ‘ Defender of Faiths’, rather than ‘the faith’.
I was also wondering how Christmas will look without the Queen, as I think she was the one who wanted them all at Sandringham. Will the Sussexes be invited? Andrew? The Middletons? Camilla’s family? Strange how my mind works when I can’t sleep!

Hope you're feeling better SueDonim

I haven’t heard the ‘1950’s women in pinnies’ since Trisher
stopped posting

Chestnut Thu 29-Sept-22 00:11:29

This thread reminds me of a load of 1950s women in pinnies and rollers gossiping over the garden fence.

The safest path to follow is never believe any second hand gossip about anyone, only the words you hear from their own mouths.

Ah! The ex-soldier has a book just out - that explains it. His timing is impeccable.

It was posts by Paul Burrell that I saw on Facebook. I have no idea whether he had first-hand knowledge, made them up, or copied them from someone else. Many of his assertions are old hat (old inventions dug up again because Charles is now King and there is an interest is such gossip?) but he is definitely circulating them.

Yes, sorry I didn’t return to this. I’ve been ill and mainly spending my time in the bathroom. ?

Reporting answering a query from another poster, how very strange!. Obviously A sore subject so don't worry the skeleton won't be mentioned again, at least not by me.

My query was from *SueDonims post about Paddyann taking the "royal shilling".

nadateturbe Wed 28-Sept-22 19:08:43

What did he say that wasn't true?
And why would God appoint people to live with such wealth and privilege?

Anniebach Wed 28-Sept-22 18:17:47

Exposes the Monarchy ? Just a republican giving his opinion

Aveline Wed 28-Sept-22 18:07:25

More hearsay.

Ummm, as I said Annie, rubbish and heresay. confused

Anniebach Wed 28-Sept-22 16:49:00

If Burrell confirmed it then it must be true , he did say Diana
said he was the only man she ever trusted, in a recent documentary he said he was Diana’s friend, and he said at
the inquest he had a private meeting with a Catholic priest re
a secret marriage between Diana and Hasnet Khan, unusual
an Anglican and a Muslim being married by a Catholic Priest

Jaberwok Wed 28-Sept-22 16:45:44

.... heresay.....

Jaberwok Wed 28-Sept-22 16:44:05

It's mostly rubbish and needs at Annie, bit like this thread.

Anniebach Wed 28-Sept-22 16:37:29

Why would a security guard of Edward and Sophie asked if he
could run with them ? Do security guards asked the person they are paid to guard ask ‘May I come with you?’

True Callistemon. I don't know why the lady would lie either. Seems silly.

Showing off, perhaps nadateturbe

I don't know why everyone is blaming Burrell for these stories, they originated in Royal Biographer Brian Hoey's book " Not in front of The Corgis" The documentary in 2015 featuring some of his ex -staff plus Burrell confirmed what was in the book.

My mother always said
I know not what the truth may be,
^I tell the tale as told to me^”.

Edward replied no we don't mix with commoners

Well, he married one! ???

I don't see anything wrong with Paddyanne doing paid work for the Royals. Why on earth not?? And that's not "taking the Kings shilling".
And why would Grany lie? She doesn't need to .

I didn't say Grany lied.

However, the woman she sat next to on a train may have been lying exaggerating somewhat.
I doubt that security people would discuss conversations with their (gossipy) mothers.
