Things King Charles might do

I was thinking that should the media be a bit slow in referring to Camilla as simply ‘The Queen’, I think he’ll start doing so. I also think he’ll do something to see him referred to as ‘ Defender of Faiths’, rather than ‘the faith’.
I was also wondering how Christmas will look without the Queen, as I think she was the one who wanted them all at Sandringham. Will the Sussexes be invited? Andrew? The Middletons? Camilla’s family? Strange how my mind works when I can’t sleep!

Has his valet written a book ?

(Charles' valet, that is) No, but Diana's butler has put some old rumours on Facebook in the last few days and a lot of people are sharing them in the belief that they are 1) new and 2) true.

The toothpaste story was first seen when Charles had a broken arm in plaster and couldn't put toothpaste on the brush with one hand.

I don't see anything wrong with Paddyanne doing paid work for the Royals. Why on earth not?? And that's not "taking the Kings shilling".
And why would Grany lie? She doesn't need to .

paddyann54 Wed 28-Sept-22 16:03:15

Yes I can read Volver and I have no intention of being drawn into this again.I'm sure many people in business do work for people who they dont like .In my case the client wasn't the RF it was done as a favour for a longstanding client as explained before. Now if this is brought up again I will report it .

Time to let it go ladies or is there another name thats suits this nonsense better starts with B and ends in h !!

volver Wed 28-Sept-22 15:43:38

She can read, you know.

Jaberwok Wed 28-Sept-22 15:39:00

Thank you Annie, I thought I was right about that. Bit ironic really considering Paddyannes views about the RF.

Anniebach Wed 28-Sept-22 15:35:01

Grany so not true again,

Yes Paddyanne did speak of taking photographs of the
royals, professionally .

Jaberwok Wed 28-Sept-22 15:00:00

I think perhaps SueDonmin is referring to the fact that Paddyanne did or does run a photography business and clients have included the Royal Family. I could of course be wrong about this and will gladly stand corrected if that is the case. By the way it was James V1th/1st not 1Vth, he was killed on Flodden field in 1513.

Callistemon21 Wed 28-Sept-22 14:47:25

Yeah, right Grany
Big tub of Maldons required.

Try pulling the other one.

Grany Wed 28-Sept-22 14:45:45

That family think they are so above everyone.
A little snapshot anecdote

A lady I sat next to on a train coming back from London to North Wales got chatting she I discussed out interest in sewing textiles crafts any way subject got on to monarchy

Thinks Charles should pay tax on inheritance and William in for a big payments from the Duchy.

She said her family member provides security for Edward and Shophie. Well Sophie likes running and this woman's security man likes running too Sophie asked if he could run with her Edward replied no we don't mix with commoners Sophie was up for it she wouldn't care about being with a 'commoner'

Edward with a chest full of medals never been in military only for few weeks couldn't hack it or ever done a days work in all his life. Whatever.

and if Charles had had a nasty polo accident at any point between, I think, 1952 and 1982, King Andrew

Thankful for small mercies ?

Callistemon21 Wed 28-Sept-22 11:04:26

No, to the English crown

Now, that could be interesting re the Scottish crown

MaizieD Wed 28-Sept-22 10:51:11

Callistemon21

There are also Plantagenets still around who may have a rightful claim to the throne!

To the Scottish throne, Callistemon? hmm

PaddyAnn I raised the issue of the Scottish Crown (safe in the knowledge that it is never going to happen) just to point out that Charles WILL be King of England but never King of Scots - that's only if you set any store whatsoever in the 'hereditary principal' which I do not.

Why won't he be king of Scots?

The line of succession traces back to King James IV & I.

(though I believe there is a Stuart Pretender around somewhere)

Hereditary power is just WRONG on any level

Impossible to disagree with this.

1000 years of British history might disagree with that. And what do you define as 'power' anyway?

Which monarchs of the last 1000 yrs would make you disagree?
Henry the V11, Bloody Mary, Richard 111, Mad King George 111 , Edward V111 ?

Charles II was crowned in Scotland. We could make that a tradition for monarchs called Charles.

Feel I must point out that there is no such thing as 1000 years of BRITISH history/ Monarchy. The true figure is more akin to a mere 300 years.

On a different tack entirely - I would like to see Charles crowned as King of Scots, using the Scottish regalia, in addition to being crowned with only the English (not British) Crown.

This would be a break with tradition? But a very good thing to do I think.

nadateturbe Tue 27-Sept-22 09:20:29

I think it's pretty obvious what this statement means.
And why are you not asking Paddyann54?

How might 1000 years of British history disagree?
