Literally watched them tank the economy and then Truss actually said 'It wasn't me!' The arrogance and well stupidity. That's a frightening combination.
I don't think it was stupidity. I think she knew very well what she was doing when she blamed the "anti-growth coalition". She's trying to turn people against "others". However, I think she's misread the mood of the population. Johnson might have got away with it - to be honest, he did get away with loads - but Truss doesn't have his charisma or cult following. She's refused to listen to the Treasury, the Bank of England, the OBR and the IMF. She's relied on information from zealots in the Tufton Street think tanks. I think they did have a plan, but it's backfired. They're going to have to rely on the Conservative Party not wanting another leadership race farce or the return of Johnson, but I have a feeling that won't last.
