I'm just here so the readers will see there is another way and the shenanigans clearly shown on these threads are not the right path.

I think there are ways forward to get everyone's needs and rights met but they won't be found in this type of discourse.

That's the truth

shenanigans
/ʃɪˈnanɪɡ(ə)nz/
Learn to pronounce
nounINFORMAL
plural noun: shenanigans; noun: shenanigan
secret or dishonest activity or manoeuvring.
"the chairman was accused of financial shenanigans"
silly or high-spirited behaviour; mischief.
Origin
mid 19th century: of unknown origin.
Translate shenanigans to
Use over time for: shenanigans

Well that's a nice accusation you've made there VS care to name the guilty party/parties?

Tell me how we reconcile the muslim woman who now can't use the women only pond on Hampstead Heath because 'him in charge' decided self ID transwomen may also use it, and they don't even have to shave their beard off. She has swum there since childhood and would dearly love to swim with her daughter but it's now mixed sex so she has to self-exclude in accordance with her faith. This despite there are two other ponds transwomen could use, the mens or the mixed.

It's very obviously a rhetorical question when the only acceptable answer is what is in someone's pants.

I believe the answer is deeper

Science has already found differences in genes as well as speculated that the brain can be washed with hormones that change the brain during pregnancy

I am no scientist but I believe there will be an answer one day.

Here is the bestbI can do.

When people were saying gay people were unnatural, linking them with pedophiles, saying they shouldn't be parents, sayingbthey werent wanted in toilets and changing areas. I went with my heart. I said that decent law abiding people should be able to live and love as they wish

I'm doing the same now

Is that good enough?

VS not every comment on this thread is about you, there are other people in this world, some who chant the same mantra you love TWAW. I don't equate all TRAs with racists, but I have seen tweets that have said exactly what I posted, that if black women are considered women then it's the same for transwomen. No it isn't. Black women are women. If, as I assume, you haven't tweeted racial slurs then why would you think I was referring to you? I didn't imply anything about you. I do think your chant of TWAW is a lie because transwomen are male and women are female. Science, and eminent medics like Lord Robert Winston will back me on that.

I wonder are you planning to answer MargotLedbetter?

I did answer

I think

Anyway, it's not about me so obviously I shouldn't have an opinion at all then?

Which is odd because people keep asking me things

At least I'm not rude though

Is the rude gibe aimed at me or only Doodledog as the rest of that post seems to be to me?

I've looked back but can't find your answer to MargotLedbetter's question so I'll copy it here.

Define woman. Define trans woman. Explain why the two are the same.

FannyCornforth Mon 03-Oct-22 17:04:27

Okay, VS, I honestly wish you well.

VS I don’t think for one minute that Doodledog is rude at all.
I think that she is maybe suggesting that you are over invested in all of this.

Sure, I'm in good company then because my time spent on this subject is definitely less than everyone else

VioletSky Mon 03-Oct-22 17:00:01

Honestly, the rudeness gives me hope.

It's why I know it's a battle we will win

My goodness it moved on while I was typing. Thanks Doodledog for actually reading and understanding what I wrote rather than the hasty victim inference VS took.

No of course I can't Mollygo

Weirdly, I don't think my opinion all that important in the grand scheme of things

So I keep an open mind

Doodledog Mon 03-Oct-22 16:54:55

Your respect is stretched thinly, Glorianny.

I can't disagree with your objections to the things you've attributed to the author of the article, but I suspect that many people take each article at face value. There will be some things that Liz Truss says that I will agree with, I dare say. I don't always disagree with you, either.

Whatever the author (I don't even know who he is without looking it up) feels about other topics doesn't alter my response to his views on Izzard - I think he's spot on there.

VioletSky Mon 03-Oct-22 16:51:20

Why are you always so rude?

When context is missing, I ask

I could always just assume which would be dishonest now wouldn't it because inwould be changing the narrative to suit my own needs... not something I do but somethingbi have pointed out as a problem many times.

Gross.

I don’t believe that anyone is ‘born in the wrong body’

Try a man's take on Eddie's behaviour:

www.spiked-online.com/2022/10/02/eddie-izzard-was-born-male-and-he-will-die-male/

Good article.

^Female privacy, biological truth, even the sense of safety of girls – all now play a very distant second fiddle to the right of men to say ‘I’m a lady’ and to be treated as such. Mr Izzard’s right to feel like a woman takes precedence over real women’s right to live freely and privately. This is the trans ideology summed up – everything, the entire physical, social and scientific world, must be sacrificed to the therapeutic needs of men who think they’re women. Sure, drunk blokes of old knew a woman’s bathroom was a no-go zone – but today’s blokes drunk on their own narcissistic and lunatic vision of themselves as ‘women’ recognise no such physical boundaries^

If I have to listen to a man's opinion I would prefer it wasn't someone who denies there is racism in football (apparently it's a class war), who disagrees with same sex marriage, and thinks green policies are waging war on the working class. Oh and who called Greta Thunberg a "millenarian weirdo". Not the sort of man I choose to respect.

If surgery and hormones carried no risks I'd say yes, changing your genitals is a reasonable requirement...

But I cannot in good conscience ask people to risk theor future health and even life to have surgery

So I don't really know what you expect me to do.

I could run around the Internet shouting you can't be yourself if you havebthe wrong chromosomes!!!111 but I fail to see who thatbwould help really

This is going from bad to worse.

Nobody expects you to do anything. Why on God's green earth would anyone expect you to ask people to get surgery? Why do you think they are doing that, and who are 'they'? Who is coming to you and asking your opinion on whether they should get surgery?

Feel free to run around the Internet shouting anything you like, but you're right that it would help nobody, and not has anyone asked you to. It would be entirely self-driven.

I dont think that there is evidence that affirmation is the right thing particularly with regards to young people, I think there needs to be much more data gathering on that.

Fight for it then.

Do something

Help someone

Listen to someone

If you believe you are so right...

prove it

I'm not a TRA Rosie, no matter how many times I get called one but, just wondering why you equate being one to racists and if you think I am racist?

Because we really don't need any more confusion on this thread and I'm a big fan of sayingbwhat you actually mean instead of implying gross things

Can you read?

Rosie said that some TRAs said that horrible thing about black women. This makes them racists. The ones who said it. Not all TRAS, and more importantly not you. She did not call you racist. Or a TRA for that matter. Why do you always seem to assume that everything is about you?

I don't even gasp follow Stonewall...

I'm quite capable of formulating my own opinions

Based on the evidence given by the medical community and science that gender dysphoria is real and people are somehow being born with the wrong type of genitals and unable to accept that...

I think saying, yes, you are a woman is just the polite, reasonable and easy thing to do.

If in anyone's mind that makes me a terrible person... Well... I'm not being nasty to others about my opinions so I think I am OK honestly
