Yes you did Mollygo... we were talking about "binders" though and that's what I talked about.
Like this thread it degenerated into " some are giving all trans people a bad image" which is a bit like saying "some women can't parallel park, so they make it look like all women can't park" which is utterly daft but... one of those nonsense beliefs many of us have heard eg : " blooming women drivers"
Maybe you should take a break and come back with a better argument that doesn't involve personal comments, assumptions or changing narratives
I'll wait

Are young people turning gay?
(547 Posts)According to a survey by Stonewall more than a quarter of young people identify as LGBTQ which is higher than previous generations.
So what is happening here? Are they actually changing, just think they're changing, or is it because they feel able to identify themselves?

Oh dear, very sorry to disappoint
you.
Quite happy with school policy. I don't know exactly what you think we do, we don't even teach about trans people.
Neither does the local secondary
We just support children if they open up to us about their feelings and pass on any concerns via relevant channels.
Unless you want me to tell children who are unhappy in their bodies to just "get over it" I'm not sure what I can do other than listen and comfort.
Is that OK?

I don't follow Stonewall or mermaids so I'm not sure what you want me to do?
Do you know, I’m sure I saw a post from VS
on the mermaids thread back in September.

I'm only active in my intersectional feminist grouo and even then, well, taking on 3 million odd people is a bit much for me... you could try? Pantsuit nation on Facebook, go, have fun!
doodledog am heartbroken. I'll comfort myself with carrot cake
I suppose I wanted you to back up your statement there were other umbrellas without the T, which as far as I'm concerned there is only the one, which is under attack. I'm disappointed you seem ignorant of Mermaids' actions. As the transgender* children's charity who have so much input into schools I'd have expected you to have come across their activities a lot, especially as like them, you've endorsed 'positive affirmation'. With at least two of the trustees on their board being exposed as totally unfit to be within 10 miles of any child or policies pertaining to children you may not need to learn anything about them in the future. Google is your friend, there's plenty of information about theses scandals online.

Yes, Rosie. They aren't being very kind about this, are they?
The Ts are pushing their way into LGB spaces as well as those of women of any and every sexuality. And all the while claiming to be marginalised and oppressed ?.
Yes and as you say, they are trying to interfere with not only the hard won rights of females, but the hard won rights of Lesbians and Gays
and even worse, which it seems is impossible for some to grasp, they have damaged the image of trans.
When someone mentions trans now, thanks to the actions of the few, mainly TIM, and their violent supporters, the first thing that comes to mind is not of a group of people wanting to live their lives unobtrusively as the opposite gender, but of TIM cheating, TIM invading female safe spaces, of TIM annexing the word ‘woman for their own ends etc.
To whom exactly are those TIM and fans being kind?

VS I have never attacked anyone for being under an umbrella without the T, that's their choice and they are still welcome to shelter with me.
I asked upthread but maybe you missed it. What umbrellas without the T are there? As far as I'm aware the only umbrella without the T is LGBAlliance who Mermaids have referred to the Charity Commission in an attempt to have their charity status rescinded. Stonewall were part of the process but then pulled out, but it doesn't stop them attempting to paint them as a transphobic hate group. The bully boys are determined that while the T may have exclusive groups lgb may not.

Am actually quite touched
I might be an opinionated wretch but I'm doodledog's opinionated wretch
Minds me of how I met one of my best friends. We argued for years on the Internet and when we decided to leave an Internet forum, she sent me her phone number cos we couldn't be without each other.
We are still arguing strong to this day... also there is cake and brownies
Eh?
Now who's making assumptions?
You are at full liberty to think what you wish Mollygo
If you haven't gotten to know my real feelings on things by now, you either have a rubbish memory or that's what it suits you to believe
Arguing is futile
So think what you like, it changes exactly nothing
I like it. VS admits everything I’ve said is true and says it’s OK.
I’m OK with that if she is and I’ll know she is if she says OK.
Go on VS.

Genuinely only defend the rights afforded by the equality act to innocent law abiding trans people
I expect that does make me a bad person to some but not those who matter most to me
So here we are

You have no morals, principles or boundaries. You continually defend the indefensible.
Oof!!
I don't agree with VS about trans issues, but that's a bit strong.
To go back to the OP, a small but interesting survey which seems to indicate that bi is the group who are lacking support. The main complaint against it being that it was run by Stonewall. That's OK you don't have to accept it if you don't want to.
Do you mean the main complaint on here? I don't think that's the case, really. The main complaint is that the research questions are flawed. Comparing different things and using one as a yardstick to indicate a rise in the incidence of the other is poor design, and suggests that the researchers were interested in manipulating the results.
OK thanks

“You'd think anyone reading that might be kind wouldn't you?”
So are you saying you read it and you aren’t kind, so it couldn’t possibly mean you? Or are you saying we shouldn’t assume you are kind, whether you read it or not?
I’m confused by your post, but I wouldn’t like you to think I am making assumptions about you.
Ok
VioletSky
Just put the keywords directly into the search box of the Internet with the username doodledog that works fine.
Good luck
That’s very kind, VS, thank you. I know how to use the search box, but there must be dozens of threads containing my name, ‘pronouns’, ‘transwomen’ and ‘lesbians’.
Incidentally, I am in a zoom now (break time), and significantly fewer participants have pronouns on show. Correlation isn’t causation I know, but it’s surely no coincidence that this has happened at the same time that various organisations have pulled out of the diversity champion scheme. It shows how the ‘trend’ was far from voluntary - nothing was stopping people from keeping it going when the stranglehold was loosened.
There is no evidence that Womble was attacked or doubted. No one dismissed her experiences. I only questioned if being attacked by a small group of people justified condemning everyone in that category.

Ah, yes sorry you can't have meant me as you know I don't read comments with assumptions
Where did I say you hadn’t been kind violetsky?
I think you are making assumptions.
