Who?
People in the know say the only people who trust Johnson are those who don’t know him. That I can believe.
BJ ??
However RS more likely.
Johnson is still being investigated for misleading the house. He’s an inveterate liar.
Hopefully Rishi. Not BJ pleeeese! He did so much to destroy the party. Isn't he still being investigated for breaking lovkdown rules? What we really need is a split in the Conservative party. BJ, Moggy, Truss and those who want to take the party even further right to aid their greedy pals could have their own party and the more centre sensible, principalled people could be a different party.
Deedaa I agree and he is a lying toad to boot. I cannot use stronger language here.

Whoever gets chosen will first have to garner 100 signed up supporters by Monday, with 357 MPs that means if everyone backs someone, there can only 3 1/2 candidates in the election.
The 1/2 candidate is Larry the cat.
I think Johnson, is unlikely to get 100 signatures. I would go with Alastair Campbell's belief that it will be Hunt, Mordaunt or Sunak. Personally my money is on the cat.
It’s possible that only one will go forward from the first round. If Sunak for example gets 200 votes, and the remaining vote is split with neither candidate getting over 100 that could be the end of it.
I am left speechless by the suggestion that Boris loves this country! The only thing he has ever loved is himself.
Zuki, Labour and Starmer have made their plans clear on their website. Here's a few points as a starter
"To give this country the fresh start it needs, we need a new approach. The next Labour government will:
1. Create good, green jobs and new high-tech green industries across the UK via our climate investment pledge.
2. Scrap business rates and replace them with a system that will incentivise investment and level the playing field between high street businesses and global giants.
3. Create a new Industrial Strategy Council to embed long-termism into our economic strategy and form a new partnership with business.
4. Buy, make and sell more in Britain to strengthen the foundations of our economy and strengthen supply chains. Our plan will create jobs and growth in all parts of the country and help to secure Britain’s economy against future shocks.
5. Introduce a new deal for working people boosting jobs security and securing fair pay.
Here's the website where there is a lot more information labour.org.uk/issue/economic-growth/
Hope borriss comes back can't think of Starmer in power I've no idea what he would do he's never made his plans clear
I'm more than pleased that Johnson and co have been held to account for their wilful destruction and shameless "I'm alright Jack" mentality.
They arent even able to hold it together to help their "friends" out anymore.
Good on Starmer!
Allsorts
Who knows. It’s been truly awful. She got in wrong, has done the right thing but left chaos, She hadn’t a chance, she took on a dreadful task, trusted her friend KK foolishly, didn’t handle it well, I have written to the house and MP saying she was not fit for the job. Yet I hate bullies, this has been bullying. One thing I won’t forget, long after she’s history, is Keir Starmer, his constant harassment, it has been brutal, first against Boris with partygate, he did the same against LizTruss, he did it with that sanctimonious monotone voice saying he’s ready to be leader, when did he ever have a thought of his own, since being opposition leader he hasn’t had a policy off his own. Anyone is better than him, we don’t need a general election, there will be a change in government, there has to, it can’t be a one party race as it’s been. At least Boris loved this country. Keir has shown along with Angela this country is way down their list on their list of priorities. They will do what labour always do, borrow up to the hilt, then when there’s no way out leave it to conservative to pick up the pieces by not fighting the election like last time. I am not conservative, yet definitely not labour because they are incompetent even without Covid. I go for the policies, not slavishly follow a political party if I don’t agree with their values. The last thing the country needs is a General Election. If there is I shall accept all the sweeteners Labour hand out on a pay later basis. .
Presumably you support our adversarial system of government? Starmer is doing his job - which is to treat the incumbent party as an adversary. Which is exactly what the Tories would do if they were in Opposition.
As for bullying - this current tranche of Tories are a pack of hyenas - they tear each other apart and back-stab each other, and Truss was part of that, she's part of the pack. Or did you not notice that she sacked KK for carrying out her wishes - got him to carry the can? The party is fighting for its own survival, the MPs for their own individual futures in it and their jobs yet you say Keir has shown along with Angela this country is way down their list on their list of priorities.
As for Boris loving his country... please! - Boris isn't even in it at this crucial time. Boris Johnson's priority is his own elevation, his own status within the party.
Truss has left the country in economic chaos, she has ensured that millions will suffer because of her failure to understand economics 101, she doesn't even understand the basics of the free-market that she embraces. But strangely, you have made this all about the alleged failures of the Labour party! Staggering!

^Witnesses who are working with the Privileges Committee tell me there are no shortage of people willing to testify against Boris Johnson. Risk is that they become even more determined if he returns as PM, which could make the whole fiasco much more embarrassing for the party.^
If, and I hope it doesn't happen, but if Johnson got back in as PM there are already MPs saying they will leave the Conservative Party and sit as Independents. If enough did that we might get the GE which currently seems out of reach.

Just hope Liz didn’t start redecorating number 10- Carrie might be back in there next week ?

Farzanah
Why not the Tesco lettuce, which outlived Truss, and is receiving congratulations on line?
What’s not to like, and a green candidate to boot?
In the absence of a General Election, we'd be as well with the lettuce. I'm with you Farzanah.
We absolutely must have a general election. Enough is enough!
Or we could have PR Maggs
The public have NEVER voted for a Prime Minister as such. The Leader of the Party is always voted in by the MPs or the Party members. The public are supposed to vote for their local Member of Parliament not necessarily the party he represents. If this happened, we would more often than not get a hung parliament. Especially the last few elections.
.......along shortly ? ?
The whole point really is that the U.K. political system is broken and entirely without credibility. We haven’t had stability since Brexit and unlikely to do so whoever the next leader given the divisions in the Tory party.
I agree Varian
Boris Johnson failed our country and Liz Truss trashed our economy.
The prospect of yet another Tory Prime Minister is monstrously scary.
It's time for a General Election NOW so we can show the Conservatives the door.

Maudi
Seems he's still popular
Only with the small of brain.
They need the backing of 100 MPs to go forward. Then I guess it goes to the members. Be interesting to see what happens.
