Who?

Whitewavemark2 Thu 20-Oct-22 14:13:36

One Tory MP asking for Johnson, you know the one that left in disgrace. Is that the best they can do?

tanith Thu 20-Oct-22 14:14:05

Rishi Sunak I think possibly.

paddyann54 Thu 20-Oct-22 14:15:28

another unelected Tory !!

We need a GE now .

Witzend Thu 20-Oct-22 14:17:16

My money’s on Rishi.

Couldn’t agree more, but we seem to be entirely excluded from the process of electing the Prime Minister.

We seem to have left democracy behind.

Who do we think they will choose (not who we think might be least bad)?

Penny Mordaunt - faster on her feet, less irritating voice and apparently able to land good his on Keith Starmer.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 20-Oct-22 14:18:51

I agree that we need a GE

(We do not elect a PM in the U.K. we can only vote for our constituency MP.)

Whitewavemark2 Thu 20-Oct-22 14:23:54

Alistair Campbell reckons it is a stitch up between, Sunak, Hunt and Mordaunt.

I think there is something in that.

I don’t want to see any of that corrupt shower as PM. But my guess would be Rishi Sunak.

We’ve reached such a nonsensical stage that it wouldn’t surprise me to see Johnson scuttling in the door of number 10 still wearing his holiday shorts.

Please, please, please not Braverman.

I will truly know that we were a fascist state if she gets the premiership.

Nandalot Thu 20-Oct-22 14:35:54

Paul Bristol, MP for Peterborough, talking about Wanting Johnson back. His only reason is that he won them the seats. Another Tory MP earlier said Truss had to go because of the bad showing in the polls. For many of the Tories it is just about staying in power, not what is best for the country.

Silvergirl Thu 20-Oct-22 14:37:00

Disappointed she didn’t announce a general election.
It will just be more of the same, another Tory another day.

Wyllow3 Thu 20-Oct-22 14:39:13

Short of a GE:

My preference - Penny Mordaunt
Who we'll get - Sunak

Urmstongran Thu 20-Oct-22 14:41:21

The 1922 wouldn’t let her call a GE even if she wanted to.

I hope we get Mourdant or Braverman and the new cabinet doesn’t include Shapps.

Urmstongran Thu 20-Oct-22 14:44:20

New PM will be in place for Halloween ??

growstuff Thu 20-Oct-22 14:45:21

Don't you approve of tofu Urmstongran?

(Wondering why on earth anybody would want Braverman.)

GrannyGravy13 Thu 20-Oct-22 14:46:47

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not a big name.

If I was Rishi Sunak or Penny Mourdant I would want to wait until after the next GE and then run for Leader of the Opposition and work towards reuniting the party.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 20-Oct-22 14:48:13

??? I had a small bet with myself and just knew ug would choose Braverman to perhaps Badenoch.

She says it to wind us up I think. She isn’t serious.

I mean……. Braverman or Mordaunt - I ask you!

winterwhite Thu 20-Oct-22 14:48:38

If I were Sunak I'd be b*****ing off to the US. Doesn't strike me as revelling in schadenfreude.

Can't believe Braverman will be in the running. Or Johnson. That would leave it between Hunt and Mordaunt.

I hope whoever it is promotes Tugendhat. And maybe Thérèse Coffey will quietly exit stage left.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 20-Oct-22 14:49:01

Johnson????. Mini-Trump 2.

They are all insane.

volver Thu 20-Oct-22 14:49:49

Reporting on BBC that Boris Johnson is thinking of standing.

We're a banana republic.

Hetty58 Thu 20-Oct-22 14:52:24

Heaven help us, nobody knows what they're doing - and the lunatics are running the asylum, quite obviously. An election seems the only sensible way forward.
