Surely even rabid Tory supporters can't agree with the return of Braverman? I mean, come on...

^Maybe they were immigrants who came here legally though. There's a difference.^

Maybe the UK was more welcoming when their parents came here, and legal routes were more openly available than they are today.

No "maybe" about it.

Wasn’t a fan of him for back stabbing Boris, yet Boris had to go. I approve of his changes, it’s a steady team, don’t want any dramatics, just get the job done. If I find out someone has behaved in a shallow way I must admit I hold on to grudges, however we would not hardly have have a politician left if they went by my standards. Jeremy as Chancellor good and so is Dominic back. He and they have to prove themselves.

Which job? Stopping people from not having enough money to afford housing, food and heating? Restoring clean rivers and coasts? Investing in the infrastructure needed to make energy more sustainable? Ensuring that the NHS functions properly?

I can't see this lot doing that.

^It's a funny old world we find ourselves in where those who want the dinghies stopped are now pinning their hopes on a PM and Home Secretary who are the children of immigrants.^

Since it is impossible to come here illegally, there's no difference at all. None at all.

It's all looking good so far, although I'm waiting to hear who the Environment Secretary is (the last idiot, Ranil Jayawardena, has just resigned, thank goodness). Oh, just found out, it's Theresa Coffey. Hmm, what does that mean, I wonder?

I'm also waiting to hear Sunak's stance on Ukraine.

People who arrive and claim asylum are also arriving legally.

Michelle Donelan keeps her job as secretary of state for culture, media and sport.

Is the Braverman choice because she did give a very good speech, liked by the delegates, at the party conference?

shock You mean her Martin Luther ‘ I have a dream’ moment? More like a nightmare imo

??? Well said RichmondPark! Braverman’s dream - pull up the ladder after you and yours have used it. Despicable!

Well I hold my hands up I didn't like Sunak and his back stabbing of Boris but I'm changing my mind especially with Suella Braverman being appointed Home Secretary, yes could be a dream team. If he sorts the economy out and stops the dinghies a major issue with many including me I think at the next General Election the Conservatives could win again.

As I said. She is there to appeal to the far-right.

Gillian Keegan has been appointed secretary of state for education.

Braverman is back as Home Secretary a week after she resigned.

In her resignation letter she wrote, "Pretending we haven’t made mistakes, carrying on as if everyone can’t see that we have made them, and hoping that things will magically come right is not serious politics. I have made a mistake; I accept responsibility; I resign."

Now here she is....carrying on as if everyone can't see that she made a mistake. Things have magically come right for her. This is not taking responsibility. This is not serious politics.

Well, is is interesting.

Tim Shipman (Chief Political Commentator, Sunday Times) has just tweeted that Braverman didn't 'mistakenly use her private email' at all, but regularly used a backbencher as an unofficial adviser...
Apparently security sources regard her as a danger...

Not the best judgement on Sunak's part, surely?

Yvette Cooper is going to have more fun with her I imagine...

Let's hope she is on a warning smile. Perhaps leaving her to YC is the easiest answer.

I never thought there could possibly be a worse Home Secretary than Pritti Patel - then along came Suella with her dreams of asylum seekers being flown to Rwanda.

Unbelievable

This- and she was sacked for breaching security only a few days ago. I am shocked she is back- horrible woman. Do you think she will finally give us the list?

Mordaunt re-appointed as Commons leader

Luckygirl3 Tue 25-Oct-22 17:16:22

We can only hope he fails to put together a full cabinet.

This is all deeply depressing.
