Experts have slammed a NHS hospital in Scotland for asking 12-year-old boys if they are pregnant and referring to women and girls as 'people with internal reproductive organs.'

NHS Scotland clearly does not have money to burn as they have been talking about charging the wealthy ( an undefined category) for treatment. It's but a short step to charging the less wealthy and giving priority to those who pay. I know Sturgeon denies it would happen but can anyone believe it?

grrrrrr my suspicions but by.

I've just popped back on for a look after my trip to Waitrose. Don't normally comment because as said before it befuddles my little brain.
But seriously where is this page of badgering and bullying? I've just now read a couple of posters being very civil and courteous to each other on this difficult issue even though they disagreed or misunderstood. Is there any need to start conflict which isn't even about the topic itself?

Smileless2012 Sat 05-Nov-22 11:48:18

Yes I know Lathyrus grin but I always try to be positive and the response has confirmed by suspicions.

Lathyrus Sat 05-Nov-22 11:46:33

I would like to know if you think “bodies that bleed” is ridiculous though, volver.

Mollygo Sat 05-Nov-22 11:43:38

Hello again Volver.🤣🤣

So I popped back on for a look at all the fun and games.

A thread was started last night questioning a Scottish hospital’s way of fulfilling its responsibility to make sure, as much as they could, that nobody having radiological treatment with ionising radiation, was in fact pregnant. Now that could be to have a go at Scottish things (surely not), or at what some people consider to be woke pandering to some modern way of living. Or maybe it was just to have the conversation about it.

That discussion lasted around 3 pages. Then the conversation turned to gender critical subjects (Or whatever it is we’re supposed to call them.) A page of badgering and bullying. With complaints about leaflets that are brought into the conversation just to complain about them, although they have nothing to do with the original topic. I think this is where somebody tells me it’s all linked and I’m a racist supporter of male supremacy, and has a laugh about me not wanting to get involved. Its tiresome and when you see what happens to people IRL who disagree with the orthodoxy, it’s scary. Now watch what happens.

I’m off to talk about His Dark Materials on another thread. Who would have thought that the death of God and the pernicious impact of religion would have been the safer topic. Funny old world.

Bye VS
Although I find it funny that you mention something I associate with you.

Have a nice day.

hmm if that comment about people wanting echo chambers every day is directed at me VS then say so. I find ambiguous digs extremely tiresome.

If it isn't, perhaps you could clarify by saying who it is directed at.

You know that’s never going to happen Smileless.😬

The NHS hospital's poster has two trans symbols on it.
How can this not be a trans-related topic?

No you haven't appeared 'difficult' at all Shelflifesmile. It is as you say a difficult issue.

Don't you think that having 'female' in the record might have been helpful Glorianny?
If not, why have a sex signifier at all?

Yes. If you have female and male instead of using man and woman it would save a lot of confusion.
For anyone saying ‘some people’ don’t understand those terms or are not sure about them, look at the curriculum, where it is clarified quite early on.

Shelflife Sat 05-Nov-22 10:20:25

I understand now smileless. I also recognize your point of view . Such a difficult issue! I hope I haven't appeared ' difficult ' that is most certainly not my intention .

I was referring to the use of the word people on the hospital poster Shelflife.

Of course there must be acceptance of men and women who transition but not at the expense of natal women. I doubt one would ever see a poster in a hospital, drawing attention to the warning signs of prostate cancer, that referred to people with a penis and testis. It would use the word man.
