This is another trans thread, isn't it? 🤦🏼‍♀️

No I think it's a thread about excluding women from wearing an inoffensive scarf. You're happy for women's dress to be so regulated? The suffragette colours stand for the women who campaigned for us to get the vote. You have an issue with them?

Ah, such innocence...

Real or feigned?

It’s the seeds of a totalitarian government where only approved viewpoints are allowed.

This. And it's scary how many are happy to be led along the path.

The SNP is fast losing all credibility isn’t it?
Independence? I don’t think so.

Smileless2012 Tue 15-Nov-22 13:30:13

I wonder what would have happened if the woman who left had refused to remove her scarf and stayed. It's a pity that they all didn't refuse to comply.

Maybe they should rock up in Scottish Parliament tartan, both women and men, that’d show em.

Lathyrus Tue 15-Nov-22 13:19:37

Political?

This is a Parliament 🙄😂😂😂😂😁

Sometimes the colours are acceptable it would seem.

I don’t think there is one Lathyrus
The SNP are showing themselves to be ridiculous.Hope the women all attend meetings in suffragette colours in the future.

It would be good if some of the men could turn up in something of those colours too.

Thinking back to when the Norwegians all wore the yellow star.

Somebody has just tweeted that the colours of theScottish Parliament tartan are purple, green and white but in muted shades. How ironic!

After private discussion, apparently the Suffragette colours are political.

A rational explanation of why one set of colours-rainbow- is permissible but another set -women’s rights - is not ?

I have voted SNP all my life but lately I am beginning to wish there was an alternative. I am embarrassed at the woke nonsense going on since they had to get into bed with the Greenies.

Quite frankly, people who use words like "woke" and "Greenies" are probably not suited to voting for a social democratic party anyway.

grannydarkhair Tue 15-Nov-22 12:51:43

J52 Someone has tweeted that tomorrow they’ll wear purple, green and white clothes. She wonders if she’ll be asked to strip?

Mollygo Tue 15-Nov-22 12:51:14

Probably to do with Women Won’t Wheest. Can’t have anything that supports female rights in the Scottish Parliament then? They’ve actually called more attention to it by banning it then they would have done if they just left it.

But purple and green look quite good together. Just because you're wearing it doesn't make any political statement. Nonsense news.

grannydarkhair Tue 15-Nov-22 12:49:00

Above was in response to “Who ordered the removal, etc.”

How ridiculous. Back in the day Suffragette’s wore jewellery with white, purple and green stones as secret signals of support. Time for the beads, broaches and earrings?

Rosie51 Tue 15-Nov-22 12:40:29

As someone said on Twitter the headlines will be "Votes For Women Colours Banned By Scottish Parliament" Who ordered the removal of the scarves and by whose authority?

A bit of colour prejudice showing here!

grannydarkhair Tue 15-Nov-22 12:11:37

During stage 2 hearings of the GRR Bill in the Scottish Parliament, women are being asked to either remove scarves knitted in Suffragette colours of green, purple and white or leave. At least one woman has chosen to leave. And yet quite a few of the MSPs are wearing Rainbow lanyards.
