It's funny how we can all look at a situation and come to completely different conclusions.
My take on it is Ngosi went into this situation with the intention of provoking a situation she could exploit for media attention. Looking at her Twitter account, it is clear she has an already established view of the RF, with tweets that express admiration for Megan and accuse King Charles and Camilla of domestic violence against Megan in 2021.
Looking at the transcript of the conversation, Ngosi seemed to be deliberately vague about her ancestry, claiming she didn't know citing lack of records. This is nonsense given that she has a BA in African Studies from SOAS and has given herself the name Fulani, one of the 3 main tribes in Africa.
She seemed to be deliberately forcing Lady Susan to ask further questions regarding her heritage so she could then frame the interaction as an " interrogation" when all I see is an elderly lady who was genuinely interested in this woman's heritage.
It all smacks of a set up to me.

Nobody was wearing a wire and the woman's name is Ngozi Fulani. Ms Fulani wasn't wearing ceremonial dress or the national costume of her parents' home country.

Racism and racist behaviour aren't necessarily illegal. Anybody is entitled to racist opinions, although they might not find themselves very popular. Racism is only illegal in certain defined circumstances, such as discrimination covered by the Equality Act, or Encitement to Racial Hatred, as defined by the Public Order Act.

I don't think anybody has claimed that what Lady Hussey said was against the law. However, the optics aren't good for somebody close to the royal household.

I'm just a bit worried about this lady.

The questioning seemed to go on a long time, she should have taken the hint and stopped asking. Touching her hair to read her name badge was definitely wrong. I'd not like that either.

But what does everyone want now?

So much scandal. I just hope this woman is OK. Because there's an awful lot of hate online. A lot to deal with for a woman of any age.

She was obviously very close to the Queen. Been with the royals for 60 years. Accompanied the Queen to Philip's funeral. I'm guessing she'll be devastated.

But the Queens tact and diplomacy clearly hadn't made much impression on her which is quite surprising after such close contact for 60 years...
