They probably know how much his mum left him because that's in the public domain. They won't know if his grandfather left anything to him, or his grandmother or any of the other family members.
This is interesting-someone was allowed to look at EdwardVII's will to confirm the ownership of literary works, but they only saw the relevant pages and were instructed not to share with the public.
They're in a safe somewhere in London!

Is it possible for two people who have been brought up in a disfunctional family to create a stable "normal" family?

Prince William was brought up in a disfunctional family but his wife seems to have had the advantage of a stable background, William was welcomed into her family many years before their marriage and perhaps learned how it was possible to build a happy marriage in which to bring up children.

Prince Harry married someone who, quite apart from being a divorcee, was, it appears, at war with all the members of her family with the exception of her mother, the only member of her family to attend her wedding.

Neither PH nor MM had any experience of what most of us might regard as a "normal" family life. so perhaps neither of them had any idea how a successful marriage might work better if good relations were maintained with their extended family.

Harry and Meghan must be tremendously difficult to mix with because absolutely everything seems to either offend them or upset them.... and then they brood over the smallest thing for years !!

Harry reads slights into every action and comment. People who talk to him must be wishing they were not, then people who don't talk to him are in the wrong .... nobody can do anything right. They are both highly critical and Harry thinks he is the centre of the universe and that everything relates to his feelings.

Meghan thinks it's fine to accuse Kate of having "baby brain" when she hardly knows her, but is incredibly offended when William picks her up on it. I am still wondering why M saved a text message exchange with Kate for nearly 4 years if it wasn't to use as ammunition at some future point.

Gosh, that would take some doing, but yes, they could have got through all those millions. Meghan had her own money too which she had earned, not inherited.

Even investing a good lump sum of it should provide a substantial income.

I was merely pointing out how I don't actually know how others, not in my family (clue: not Harry) spend their money.

Not that I'd spend wildly.

I won't replace an over 60 yr old kitchen or pay for a mobile, but I do realise others spend/save differently, even on everyday items.

Other heirs and spares remained in the royal family, apart from the Duke of Windsor, therefore they got their 'accommodation and living expenses' covered. to what extent I don't know. They turned their noses up at Frogmore cottage although they keep a retainer on it. Harry's problem is that for the first time in his life he is having to pay his own way, with a very expensive wife to keep, and he resents it. He thinks the royal family owes him a living. He grumbled about his bachelor pad in Kensington Palace (just think of its worth on the open market) and it never seemed to occur to him he could use some of his inherited wealth to live somewhere more in keeping with his tastes.

But sometimes we might give the wrong answer when listening to more than one conversation!

Yes, ever tried listening to two children practising reading one in each ear? They look at you very strangely when you say the word "xxxx" from the one story to the wrong child!
While at the same time listening to 20 others in the room asking you questions!

*Norah*PH was not a pauper, he has a private fortune of a 10s of millions. he had inherited money from his great grandmother and his mother and has since inherited sums form his grandmother and grandfather as well.

He had more than enough for him to buy a pleasant house for his family and to keep them in modest comfort, particularly as he could be reasonably confident that his father would still support him from his private funds.

Other heirs and spares from other royal fmilies have done what he has done in recent years, without feeling that they can only leave home if they can live in the lap of luxury.

He could work in the security industry, he has 10 years army experience, or as a helicopter pilot, and his wife, we understand, was a promising actress.
