Prince Harry has sensationally accused Camilla of plotting to marry Charles, take the Crown and of leaking stories to the press in his bombshell memoir, MailOnline can reveal today.

In an extraordinary passage in his explosive autobiography, titled Spare, the Duke of Sussex writes: 'Shortly after our private meetings with her, she began to develop her long-term strategy, a campaign directed at marriage and with time, the Crown (with the blessing of our father, we supposed).

'News stories started appearing in all the newspapers about her conversations with Willy, stories which recounted lots of small details, none of which came from my brother, of course.'

If this is true, that he has said this, there surely can be no going back.
They have burned their boats.
He must be so bitter, or, mentally disturbed.

MaizieD Thu 05-Jan-23 21:47:40

Well, at least I don't have to read the book with you lot analysing every little detail as it appears!

NanKate Thu 05-Jan-23 21:59:29

He definitely has mental health issues.

You and me both 😂

I watched one of the numerous news slots earlier with various royal correspondents and this story was mentioned. The lady (didn’t catch her name) stated she knows categorically that Camilla didn’t leak the story about meeting Prince William and was pretty certain Harry knows this. She was astounded that he’d put this in his book.

Tickingbird everyone is astounded at everything he has put in his book and it's not even out yet. We've heard the main details already. It beggars belief. The whole country is left open mouthed at the bleating of these overprivileged young people, who have been so blessed with health and wealth, but definitely not wisdom.

vegansrock Fri 06-Jan-23 02:18:14

This part of the “whole country” is neither astounded nor open mouthed. It’s all one big media fuelled yawn.

Dorrain Fri 06-Jan-23 02:23:54

The naval gazing is definitely not part of the British psych. It seems Harry has been influenced by the California hippy, dippy school of psychology.

MawtheMerrier Fri 06-Jan-23 08:24:52

Gives a whole new meaning to “Naval Review”, but I think it’s his navel rather than anything to do with ships! gringrin

Do we think he actually “ wrote “ this book .?
It must have been a whole team of Ghost Writers ?

We've just had our little DGC to stay and they are a similar age to Harrys children.I just feel it's sad that he's so eaten up with vitriol and taking so much time publicly airing his grievances -weather real or imagined -instead of enjoying life with his young family. All this retrospection obviously consumes him. What a shame. The years fly by and children this age are a delight .Least of all his shocking comments about the Taliban. We all know he served. But surely all his concerns about safety are only made worse by globally making these statements.

This part of the country is watching the never ending soap opera that is the royal family that has played out for decades.

OnwardandUpward Fri 06-Jan-23 09:12:53

Is he suicidal?

Or just extremely mentally ill?

Does the man not care about his kids safety or future?

What does he hope to achieve by all this over sharing ? (apart from money)

(all rhetorical questions of course!)

There are some things more important than money, like personal values. Like being a good example to your child. What goes around...

Having just read the OP, my immediate response is "Why shouldn't she aim to marry Charles?"

As for the Crown, I suggest H is just being an oaf as usual. It would never have been possible for Camilla to gain"the crown". Charles was always the heir and when he dies William is.

Poor H is sounding ever more crazy, poor man.

I just feel incredibly saddened by the whole business. Harry has gone from being probably the most popular royal to making himself an outcast.

All families have problems but they should not be aired so publicly.

I feel sorry for them all especially the Duchess of Wales as she has been caught in the middle and she has spent the last few years doing the best she can.

I'm now worried about his mental health. There is obviously something seriously wrong with him. He needs help, surely.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 06-Jan-23 09:48:25

One thing. Any other well known/aristocratic/filthy rich family can publish their memoirs. The media generally publish what they want about the Royal Family, but woe betide the RF retaliating and publishing something themselves.

Smileless2012 Fri 06-Jan-23 09:53:12

It's not that he's publishing what he wants, it's what he's publishing. I agree henetha it does look as if there's something seriously wrong with him.

He's like a run away train and it's very sad.

karmalady Fri 06-Jan-23 09:59:54

Harry seriously mentally disturbed, in spite of very expensive and the best counselling available. We all know who is turning that key in his back

OnwardandUpward Fri 06-Jan-23 10:03:35

To need help and to accept it are two different things.

To accept help involves a wilingness to change and work with a therapist to achieve wellness goals. I am sure Harry has the privilege of having as much therapy as he wants, but he obviously has not engaged in a meaningful way with anyone who could advise him well about building healthy relationships for the future.

BlueBelle Fri 06-Jan-23 10:13:08

Surely there’s a similarity between him and his mother, she also did things that pointed to mental health issues, eating problems, depression, supposedly falling downstairs for attention, hiding in car boots to meet blokes and definitely talking more and more freely as time went by. she became increasingly dangerous to the royal family
Harry from his body language is incredibly needy and fell in love with someone equally needy (neither can bear to not have the reassurance of holding hands for a nano second)
Unfortunately Harry was always in his brothers shadow and like many siblings played the fool to get attention Princess Margaret (also as the spare) got into more and more trouble as the years went on
Being Royal but not needed must be an intolerable position but Harry has made the mistake of shouting about it if they had disappeared to bring their family up as a normal family all would have been well he hasn’t, and unfortunately he and his family will pay a price

I think his mental health is in big danger if tipping over

I’m sorry, but you do make me laugh at times volver. That is said in the nicest possible way of course.

I wonder how many of us have the perfect family? I don’t for sure, much as I love them all. The royals are not perfect either, and never have been. If everything I’ve seen reported, mainly on Gransnet as I’m lucky enough to be out of the country at the moment, is accurately portraying what Harry has said, then it’s a sad day for him and his family. With regard to Camilla, I would say masses of people have second marriages, it’s not a scandal, it’s not even remarkable, and of course some children, grown up or otherwise, are resentful of their parent’s new partner. Such is life. It is what it is.
