Buzz Aldrin's got married for the 4th time, he's 93. If I get to that age and find myself single, personally I wouldn't bother. Would you?

A very brave man - the moon flight was not entirely without serious risks. I wish him well.

Strewth- I’m with you again Volver. Sheesh, what’s going on?

Callistemon21 Sun 22-Jan-23 12:29:09

They've been together for four years before getting married.

I wonder what their wedding song was
It had to be, surely?

Does anyone know?

i think it is brilliant that he has found love again at 93, i always wonder why people can't just be happy for others, i am 59, i won't ever get involved again...only because i can't face loosing someone again, 18 years with my husband and 18 years with my partner. i wish buzz and his new wife the best of luck.

Never say never.

I’m 63 I don’t try to look young but I do try to look good for my age, I’m very pleased when someone’s say “you’re looking well”, happy to grow old gracefully.

I think finding love at any age surely has to be a good thing?

Good luck to them both

Sallymander Sun 22-Jan-23 10:39:03

They both look great, as people tend to do in their wedding photos. I wish them a very happy marriage.

FannyCornforth Sun 22-Jan-23 10:35:35

I know Henetha, I don’t get all of the negativity.
It’s a wonderful reason to celebrate with all of the friends he has made during a very long and remarkable life.
And it’s not as if his wife is a 23 year old Play Boy Bunny wink

abut about

volver Sun 22-Jan-23 10:34:46

Oh he's had his moments.

Remember he got in a fistfight when he was in his seventies with that guy who wanted him to swear on a bible that he had gone to the moon because the man thought it was all a hoax? He thinks he saw a UFO and held a religious ceremony on the surface of the moon. He also tried to be a car salesman but he was terrible at it.

But I think calling him a "twit" tells us more abut you that it does about him.

Callistemon21 Sun 22-Jan-23 10:32:27

I would think it is for practical reasons too to avoid possible future legal battles over intellectual property rights.
It would seem sensible.

Dr Faur, 63, who has a PhD in chemical engineering, is the executive vice president of Mr Aldrin's company, Buzz Aldrin Ventures

henetha Sun 22-Jan-23 10:30:21

Just because you choose to get married again doesn't necessarily mean you are a twit.

Kandinsky Sun 22-Jan-23 10:26:56

Just because you’ve set foot on the moon doesn’t mean you can’t be a twit in other areas of your life.

henetha Sun 22-Jan-23 10:23:15

Well said, Volver

FannyCornforth Sun 22-Jan-23 10:22:37

He’s probably one of the most famous people on this planet (plus at least one other planet!)

I was thinking about The Most Famous People on The Planet recently, as we lost three of them last year

The Queen 👑
The Pope ✝️
Pele ⚽️

Callistemon21 Sun 22-Jan-23 10:12:30

Can’t say I ve ever paid the man an ounce of thought
Perhaps you're younger than some of us, Bluebelle.

I remember being transfixed on that day

He was one of the first two men to walk on the moon and represents the spirit of exploration. He was a fighter pilot in the Korean War and has a PhD from MIT.

But let's ignore him and make light of his wife's frock and imply she's a gold digger.

Life in Britain today; doesn't it make you proud.

BlueBelle Sun 22-Jan-23 08:18:48

Can’t say I ve ever paid the man an ounce of thought

She looks as if she’s had lots of work done and the see through dress looks strange on a mature lady but as others have said none of our business except when it’s all over the media it kind of makes it everyone’s business

Guess she ll inherit a lot of money in a very short time then there will be all the fall out with his family
Don’t envy her

maddyone Sun 22-Jan-23 07:44:53

It’s nothing to do with me but I hope they, and all newly married couples, are happy. But I wouldn’t get married again at any age. My plan is to go before my husband, but if that doesn’t work out, I’ll remain single.

absent Sun 22-Jan-23 05:49:55

What's it got to do with me?

notgran Sun 22-Jan-23 05:31:02

Grandma70s

Sorry, but I think she looks fake. Why does a 63-year-old feel the need to emulate 25?

I'd love to look decades younger and do try. However you have to start off looking very good and work very hard to keep it so. I didn't start off that way (very good) but try to make the most of what I do have, when I can be bothered!

rafichagran Sun 22-Jan-23 00:28:48

Good luck to them.

henetha Sat 21-Jan-23 23:28:44

I wouldn't do it but if that's their choice then I wish them all the best
