I suspect the country was just as broke at the time of the last coronation, but I don’t think they were so many cynical sourpusses. Bread and circuses!

I'm not sure whether that's a complaint about "cynical sourpusses" or not.

You know that "bread and circuses" isn't good thing, right?

Just had a business idea...badges that say "I'm a cynical sourpuss."

I went to a park for a walk during the queens funeral, there were quite a few people there. It was one of the only things open so I may go back there.

We're planning on heading to the wilds of Northumberland. Hopefully to a cottage without a TV. 🤣

That’s usually my choice of holiday venue! 🙀

I think that the daft sods are going to be surprised and horrified at both the amount and strength of anti-monarchy feeling (if not full blown republicanism).
Charles will see that, unlike the Crown; the admiration, respect and general good will that his mother was afforded, is not hereditary.

There will be in this part of Scotland!

I’m thinking of heading up to Scotland volver.
Please don’t disappoint me and say there will be the same jamboree up there.

I take on board that some people like to see folk dressed up as medieval rulers and to have jewelled hats put on their heads in a made up ceremony. I take on board that the toffs are trying to pretend that refugees and whatever have a central place in British society, especially if they can sing. I understand that encouraging people to volunteer and organising concerts is just what some people think Heads of State should be doing and don't see the irony of spending obscene amounts of money on a party for KC and his family when the country is in deep trouble.

But I don't think any of those things. Maybe you don't either.

How are you avoiding the coronation weekend?
