It may depend on which parties Fleurpepper is a member of. You can be a member of both the SNP and Plaid Cymru, and quite a few here in Scotland are and probably in Wales too, because they will never stand candidates against each other. Such people may also be members of one of the Northern Ireland too, presumably the Alliance or Sinn Féin since I doubt they would join Unionist parties. There are SNP members who are also members of Sinn Féin and this is within the rules although sometimes unionists will make an issue of it to be mischievous.

Your point applies to belonging to the Labour Party and the Co-operative Party LadyHonoria. But the specify that to join you may not belong to any other party.

Am I the only one who feels concerned that Fleurpepper broke party rules in order to belong to three of them? I really did find it odd that you could.

I see absolutely nought wrong with it. All 3 parties are very close in so many ways- and I do believe all 3 should make an alliance to houst Tories.

I doubt they check up - but when you look at the rules they are so clear, why would you join in breach of them? If as a member you vote for a party leader, should your vote count when you are in breach of the rules? I think not. It’s dishonest.

Many people openly joined the Labour party simply to vote for Jeremy Corbyn because they knew what an electoral disaster he would be.

That is the way that many ordinary working class people were persuaded to vote Conservative - the Conservative Club sold cheap beer.

Unfortunately our local has a new landlord and the whole ambience has changed.

Actually the local working man’s club is far cheaper but really not our thing.

Did I say that? I shall have to make a choice then, one or the other, or probably none. If it is the rules, fair enough.

I attend branch and constituency meetings for the labour party, I have to be honest and say if I knew someone was also a member of other parties I would find it uncomfortable. It would I think make me speak less freely although that might not be a bad thing

Fleurpepper I for one took your meaning to be which party you’d most like to support when you said ‘you’d think about it’. I didn’t for one minute think you were indicating that you’d be flippant about the rules.

I do find it unusual that someone would think that it is even possible to join three different political parties. Did it not occur to you Fleurpepper that others would consider there was a "conflict of interest"? and a flouting of the rules.
