This, in the news is breaking my heart.
I hope she comes home safe soon - but every passing day is such a worry.

GrammyGrammy- I can’t remember when I last reported a post but I’m reporting yours

Calli- the Ben Needam case was solved several years ago. A builder admitted on his death bed that he was using a digger or something similar and accidentally killed him. He buried Ben and didn't say anything at the time.

When our first baby was stillborn I found a book published by the NCT of other peoples accounts of losing children very helpful reading in the early days of my grief. Therefore I can see how other people who have lost loved ones to drowning can find it helpful/ useful to read this thread.

I think that’s unkind Grammygrammy we have no idea what the police have done or not done we only get bits and pieces of news and a lot of speculation You obviously have past history with the police but you can’t judge everyone by your experiences and to say experts and police are largely idiots is very very judgemental and unkind
“The type they recruit” my goodness you are on one

This thread was very respectful until the last few posts

The days of me agreeing that things should 'be left to the police or the experts' are long gone. Experts and Police tend to be largely idiots and incompetents same as everyone else. Even more so nowadays with the types they recruit. The modern police love policing thoughts- checking your thinking- arresting people who might be praying in their head silently- coming crashing down on anyone who speaks against the government or politically correct delusional woke narratives. They arrest people who get off their bums and go and look for a missing woman, hold them in police cells for 20 hours then charge and fine them. But looking for a missing person all day and every day? Not so much. Instead they write off the possibility of a criminal attack against her because...she is a normal woman. Typical misogynistic eejits. And I was married to a copper for twenty years so yeah, I do know. Despite the assumptions the incompetent police have readily made- this should be treated as a potential crime. Poor woman. Poor kids.

Reported.

R.I.P. whoever this is..flowers

A body has been found, that’s all we know (and all we need to know).
It’s way too early to speculate on what has happened.
Let’s wait.
Information will be released in the fullness of time.

GrammyGrammy Sun 19-Feb-23 18:45:23

If the body has not been in the water for three weeks, where it was found is right next to a very steep bank right next to a road. Please God let the coroner be awake. Speculation is fine. We are alive and think things. That, despite the Orwellian creeping mind-controlling structures in place, is fine. The police so far have been useless.

Elaine In my own experience of grief and loss I have been grateful to receive compassionate listening when I was ready..I can't speak for others but I think that Grans are inevitably kind, helpful and caring on this webpage. I would imagine that sharing sadness and receiving caring comments is better than bottling up devastating life events.. You feel heard...

GrammyGrammy Sun 19-Feb-23 18:39:23

PS leave Elaine alone! You do you!

I think this thread helps those who wish to express their feelings about this tragic event. Not everyone feels the need but some do. I think it is very brave of those who are willing to share their own similar stories. Again not everybody wants to.

The point is that we should each respect each others feelings as we are all different.

Elaine when you have been through devastating heartbreak, which I’m guessing you haven’t you want to do all you can to help others in a similar situation because you know just what they are going through.

No, don’t even begin to guess what I have or have not been through in my life. You’d be surprised.
How does reading this thread help others?

Elaine48 Sun 19-Feb-23 18:22:41

*Elaine*. Firstly, how can anyone possibly avoid the news of this lady when it's so broadly publicised? Also, maybe people who have been through it in their own family may take some comfort that cases like this will somehow see more help and understanding of mental health.

I think that’s a fair comment.

I didn't see your comment as unkind Elaine.

BlueBelle Sun 19-Feb-23 18:19:15

That’s unkind elaine why would you feel the need to say that knowing there are posters with broken hearts reading this

Elaine48 Sun 19-Feb-23 18:17:01

It certainly wasn’t meant to be “a cruel comment” - just a fairly reasonable remark. Why do you assume I have no empathy? If I have been upset by something, I tend to avoid it from then on, to avoid further upset.

pascal30 Sun 19-Feb-23 18:16:25

ooh... I think that was a genuine question

Germanshepherdsmum Sun 19-Feb-23 18:12:36

Evidently not, Elaine. What a cruel comment. If you cannot empathise with those here who have endured similar experiences I suggest you leave the thread and ask for your post to be deleted.

Elaine48 Sun 19-Feb-23 18:08:42

Surely you would avoid reading this thread (or even the media) if something similar had happened to your family?

Ronnie2901 Sun 19-Feb-23 18:02:22

A mum, a partner, daughter, sister Friend, my heart goes out to them all 💔

dragonfly46 Sun 19-Feb-23 17:53:27

I too am mindful of how difficult this must be for Annie, Joseanne and Kate.
Nicola’s family will never be the same. Questions will constantly arise which can never be answered.

It is beyond sad that she didn’t get the help she needed. My heart goes out to her family and friends.
