Camilla has reportedly indicated she wants her five grandchildren (three are pictured left); Lola and Eliza, both 15, Freddy, 13, and twins Louis and Gus, also 13, to hold the canopy over her as she is anointed with holy oil on May 6.

Sounds like the claims about her in that book weren't too far off the mark.

I'm sick of them. The sooner we're a republic the better.

Yup totally agree. I won't be watching it

TBH to whole Royal Family has become such an anachronistic joke that this hardly seems worth being exercised about. Just more of the same, bread and circuses and a 50-page spread in the Mail and Express.

It’s certainly vintage .

I am 5.9”, size 10 , have a beautiful gown, my wedding gown, but it’s deep cream not virginal white !

Oh and I use a wheelchair, no ?

Lovely - you can have a polo mallet to hold up the canopy 🙂

I have my wedding dress somewhere in the attic, I'm sure it still fits 👰
Recycling is good and vintage is very in now.

Why not Anniebach your wheelchair would make it all-inclusive which we are supposed to be.
I vote to carry the holy oil and just might manage a trip with it.!!!Bet that doesn't come cheap this year. I wonder where that comes from.

I want to hold the canopy and come as the wicked fairy. Then at the height of the ceremony I will cast a spell and all present will fall asleep for 100 years. Fortunately no one will notice and life will go on as usual.

It was my idea so I get to choose - everyone has to be 5' 9" and a perfect size 10 like me 😁
All wearing white silk gowns with purple and golden trim. You may wear your own family tiaras unless they clash.

Yammy Mon 27-Feb-23 09:50:59

Red, white and blue Fanny and one of those fake tiaras.
Please report back afterwards and tell all or maybe you could have a hidden body cam.

Yes, yes, it’s me. I forgot to mention it.
Any ideas on what I should wear?

who will hold the canopy for the King, anyone know ?

Probably Harry and Meghan and Prince Andrew and maybe a national draw for the fourth place.

Callistemon21 Sun 26-Feb-23 22:48:26

Yes, we're all citizens.
As stated on our passports, if we have one.

Why do people believe this subject nonsense?

AmberSpyglass Sun 26-Feb-23 22:45:53

She can do what she wants, they’re still not my monarchs. I’m a citizen, not a subject, and I don’t recognise this ridiculous, outmoded concept of a ‘royal family’.

Apparently Buckingham Palace have issued a denial of this story and The Times has removed the story from its website.

Well, why not? Their grandmother is Queen Consort, so if they have a roll in the coronation, good for family for including them.

I expect I will watch highlights only on the news, with the time difference, and almost certainly we will not get a special holiday for the occasion. Canadian interest is very lukewarm, except for some of us with British heritage.

Why not just post the link Fleurpepper ?

Thanks.

Callistemon21 Sun 26-Feb-23 20:01:43

Grandchild or Step-grandchild not necessary, anyone welcome.

Gransnetters, so someone told me, but 🤐 don't tell anyone.
Will that include step GNs as well, Callistemon21?

I'm not sure why where Camilla's children live is being hotly debated here. The ceremony is including her grandchildren, who rarely live with grandparents. So what is the problem?

The very title of this thread has me hmm every time I see it. They don't have a 'starring role, they're going to hold a canopy, FGS.

Coronations have been made up affairs for centuries. There's no crime against tradition being perpetrated here.

Fair enough.

It could start a new tradition, although future monarchs may not be old enough to be grandparents.

Threads on this could run and run.
Popcorn, anyone? 🍿🍿🍿

Will they all be the same height, or might it be a wonky canopy?

the wonkier the better, I say. who cares?

You may laugh but it may need some, er, dress rehearsals
