The King has reportedly evicted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from Frogmore Cottage, their residence in Windsor. Buckingham Palace let the Duke and www.express.co.uk/news/royal/1740755/royal-family-meghan-markle-prince-harry-frogmore-cottage-king-charles of Susses know about the plan to take away the property from them just days after Harry's tell-all memoir, Spare, was published worldwide, it has been claimed.

Probably because they paid for the rent, the renovation and it was a safe place for them when they come to the UK.

They've spent about 3 days in the house so far. Ridiculous to have it there completely unused. They should repurpose the house Andrew is currently occupying to provide a safe place refugees.

That wouldn't be practical on many levels.

I think the home they live in which is part of the Crown Estate, their 'tied cottage', is modest, Cossy

Anmer Hall is a private residence.

Charles is far from unaware I agree GSM and think that he'd have wanted the Queen to act accordingly but probably knew that she wouldn't have.

I suspected that when she died the 'safety net' H & M had would be weakened, that H being the youngest son of the king would not be a blank cheque.

I suspect the king is looking at how it appears to the public in these straitened times that a disgraced non-working royal is living in a huge mansion and that H and M have a lovely house but live in America. William lives in a pretty modest house I believe. It’s good that the optics are being considered. Charles is far from unaware.

Completely agree with your first part, but from what I know (& I could be wrong) William & Kate have more than one property, and whilst I agree by comparison to Andrew their home is modest, compared to most of us it certainly isn’t smilegrin

I come from a large family, where there is this and that. Family will always stick together, no matter in what circumstances. These are only stories we are hearing about the Royal Family, but we really don’t know what is going on behind the closed doors. Amongst it all, they are still a FAMILY.

We do know what Harry has said on tv and written though, don't we?

I’d really rather P Andrew had his £250,000 annual allowance stopped immediately ! The second the “sex” scandal hit it should have been stopped. I understand one his daughters currently resides at Frogmore, assuming she’s paying the rent now. Personal opinion only but I think this is a knee jerk reaction to “the book” and whatever we feel about this I think we need to remember H’s mother had a book published with her full approval and went on TV to do an interview, as did his father, now King. Perhaps letting the dust settle for all concerned might have been a better idea ? I just don’t know confused

Before you judge, listen to 'Harry, Meghan and the Media', a series of podcasts on BBC Sounds. The series is a real eye-opener.

I've read that Harry will lose his ability to deputise as a counsellor of state, if he has no permanent domicile.

Both Prince Harry and Prince Andrew have been relegated as Counsellors of State. Prince Harry is no longer eligible due to him living in the USA and Prince Andrew has been dropped due to his associations with Epstein

Currently they are (as from 12/12/2022) as per the The Regency Act of 1937.

The Queen Consort
The Prince of Wales
Princess Beatrice
Princess Anne
Prince Edward

She said she wore neutral colors for a reason

Ah, she said.
Diana wore a lot of neutral colours too.

Ah.
There's method in his madness.
That would be a very good thing, Namsnanny. Hope it is true.

Sorry, that first line was for Callistemon21, not Norah.

Callistemon21 How would we keep up with what is happening with the Royal Family if we didn't look on Gransnet?

Move to the USA maybe? Apart from that, no idea!

She said she wore neutral colors for a reason. She looks good in bright colors. So does Catherine. So does Camilla.

@norah, I am sure you can open any tabloid in the UK to read just about anything the DM you want to about them. Very few people in the US care. I have been a royal watcher for many years, but that is the exception, not the norm in the US IMO. Luckily for me though, what the monarchy does has no affect on me. So maybe you should move to the US, become a citizen and stop caring about H & M? There is rarely news here about them unless, of course, you are a royal watcher and your algorithm shows you articles. That can easily be changed too by not clicking on anything about them.

Callistemon21 Thu 02-Mar-23 23:10:49

I remember that Diana, Princess of Wales, wore a lot of beige.

Maybe? She wore a lot of black and navy too.

I remember seeing her back then and thinking wow why is she not wearing color and wondeedr if it could be a lack of confidence but again we'll never know.

Because she looks lovely in beige?
Lacking confidence? She is not an ingénue, she is a mature woman, an actress and a confident campaigner.

I know some people are anti-beige as boring but it depends - if it's more caramel it can be very flattering.

Perhaps someone should tell Omid Scobie imaround. He's the one whose expressed their shock and outrage oh and two other members of the RF apparently.

Perhaps M&H should sack him for sensationalising?

I am in the US. Because I read about the royal family (all of them, not just H & M), it came up in my algorithm today. So did Catherine and William. I absolutely love that suit Catherine had on for the meeting. I was just trying to find the designer of the suit. Not that I can afford it, nor would I look good in it, but I enjoy talking fashion so it stood out to me.

Meghan looked incredible at her dinner date last night as well by the way. AT first I thought they were dining with Eugenie since she was in LA recently. But I do not think that was her. It was hard to see who it was.

I also thought that Sarah Ferguson looked amazing in People this week, though I wish they had not used so much photoshop on her.

Not sure how you got that out of my post of them not being in public since January 11th though? Everyone wants them to go away and they literally have not been seen in public from January 11th to yesterday. I saw something about another Steven Colbert interview, but I didn't watch it so am not sure if it was a new one or more footage of the one from January.

Yes. Really. Colors.

Yes Katherine and Meghan are both gorgeous women. my opinion is that they look good in brighter colors. I also absolutely adore the Royal blue that Camilla has been Wearing with the Sapphires as well

I have no idea if other members of the royal family would never wear beige. I cant remember ever seeing it, but since I love color, other clothing would have stood out more for me. Like Catherine's suit. But Meghan picked those colors to not stand out because of a lack of confidence in her role. She stated that she tried to avoid color so the papers would not target her for wearing color and "overshadowing" the royal family.

Her choice, but IMO she looks good in bright jewel tones. More so then beige IMO.

Really? Colours?

Meghan and Kate are cute girls, regardless their sartorial choices.
