BBC News - Sturgeon's husband arrested in SNP finance probe
www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-65187823

I am sorry to read this as I had faith in the SNP. I hope that a police investigation into this matter will bring out the truth of the matter.

So police arriving and erecting a blue tent then taking Murrell to question for over 12 hours. Over 20 officers have been seen at the house.

Politically someone will clearly know where the bodies are buried and bizarrely the police are now apparently digging up the couple’s garden. What on earth are they looking for? But they must have had a strong suspicion or lead that something is in the garden and now a designated crime scene.

It can be strongly suspected that Sturgeon knew that the ongoing police investigation had reached a critical mass and this pushed her into resignation.

Who told the police what? And did they delay the raid until after the election for new leader?, in which case I would have thought Forbes had a good case to demand a re-run now that the knowledge is out there.

The News Agents

Obviously we are all getting our information from the media, but can I say that I read that the garden was NOT dug up, rather the polis were photographed removing a spade/spades from the garage of the house.
Others have mentioned posting things relating to this online, and I saw a film posted of the scene in the street, and the narrator was saying some dreadful, libellous things. It’s so easy now to see how a story can survive and be exaggerated over time.

The Police dawn raid was certainly OTT

Oreo Sat 08-Apr-23 10:57:43

The polis? Is this how some Scots say police? Or autocorrect.
When a celebrity’s involved the police always go OTT, look at what happened at Cliff Richard’s house.
The tent seemed overkill but maybe to stop gawkers?
Would have thought that all material stuff relating to the lost money would be long gone. The digital trail is the one to follow.

Marydoll Sat 08-Apr-23 11:00:13

Polis is used in the West of Scotland by some people.

Aveline Sat 08-Apr-23 11:02:54

Oreo maybe looking for memory stick or sim card? I'd have thought it was all a matter for a forensic accountant rather than searching through all those boxes etc.

You'd have thought he was a serial killer and the police were looking for bodies.

Would this have happened if a person with not such a public profile was suspected of fraud?

Germanshepherdsmum Sat 08-Apr-23 11:36:05

It often does Calli - to catch them at home, asleep and unawares, with no opportunity to destroy any evidence.

HousePlantQueen Sat 08-Apr-23 13:26:08

If the Polis had called and knocked on the door politely mid morning, there would have been allegations of a tip off/different treatment, so like always, they cannot win.

I don't mean the timing.

Yes, I know how it works but so many? And so publicly?

Janey, bless her.

Aveline Sat 08-Apr-23 16:06:50

'Bless Janey Godley' confused

volver3 Sat 08-Apr-23 16:11:18

Saw her live a few weeks ago. Cried my eyes out.

But you know, she's Scottish, used to run a pub and supports independence.

So not to everybody's taste.

Aveline Sat 08-Apr-23 18:13:15

It's not that Volver, it's because I saw the vile despicable things she posted online that rendered her unacceptable to me.

volver3 Sat 08-Apr-23 18:29:05

Wonder what you saw?

Was it the things that the police got involved with and showed were Photoshopped by a 3rd party to make out she had said things she never said?

Rosie51 Sat 08-Apr-23 18:50:41

Or maybe the tweets she apologised for? I imagine her apology signifies she owns them as hers.

www.theguardian.com/politics/2021/sep/09/janey-godley-dropped-from-scottish-covid-ads-after-unacceptable-tweets

volver3 Sat 08-Apr-23 19:00:02

Yes there's these, and she did apologise for them, profusely. Its up to everyone whether they accept the apology or not.

Then there's the completely different ones which were shown to be fake.

Rosie51 Sat 08-Apr-23 19:27:42

I don't know the fake ones, obviously I never saw them.

Aveline Sat 08-Apr-23 19:47:16

No. I saw the things she'd said earlier about disabled people

volver3 Sat 08-Apr-23 19:49:10

Those are among the ones she apologised for.

Blondiescot Sat 08-Apr-23 19:52:06

It wasn't just the tweets though - there were her podcasts too. Hardly Photoshopped...

volver3 Sat 08-Apr-23 19:54:06

Oh for goodness sake.

Burn the witch!!!

Oh you don't need to - she'll be gone soon anyway.

Mollygo Sat 08-Apr-23 21:02:36

Oh for goodness sake.
V3 if you want to support her, go ahead. No one’s told you you can’t.

Katek Sat 08-Apr-23 22:31:13

Oh almost forgot to answer your question Marydoll as to how long I thought you'd been retired. Well, judging by information you've already given on other threads I would say you retired at least 10 years ago. My daughter has been teaching for 26 years so is more than familiar with the changes in the education system during that time,

Marydoll Sat 08-Apr-23 22:35:38

Less than that Katek
