We are missing out on so many potentially good people trained solicitors, doctors, dentists we are desperate for
The country is built on refugees, and movement of cultures
This government is SOOOOOO shortsighted and far right that it’s terrifying
People forget that the people able to travel to the west are those with money to pay for the help they just need a start then will give back a hundredfold
I ll swop a refugee for one of our drug soaked layabouts any day
No need for camps/ barges etc if they employed enough people to move them in or on quickly and gave them work permits as soon as possible then our fruit and teeth wouldn’t rot so quickly

Yes Bluebell. The mum, my friend, is a qualified primary school teacher. But her qualification isn't recognised here, so she works as a teaching assistant but teaches independently a lot of the time (group work). Lucky school, getting a teacher for a TA salary.

You do realise we can't move to another country and get our qualifications recognised without examination. Locally we had had some midwives from various countries, and welcome they are, but are having to undergo vigorous examinations and mentorship before they can even be autonomous. Rightly so.

As a UK qualified teacher I have taught in 4 overseas countries.

What an uplifting piece of news. It shows what can and should be done. Maybe there is more of that going on than we know.

All children are the future and need every chance. They deserve to be recognised and aided.
