Regardless of the transgender issue, it doesn't make any sense to use a model with a flat chest to promote use of a sports bra., Why on earth would they need to wear one? Are Nike sports bras only effective for those who are less than generously endowed? Not a great message in advertising terms.
I think you have made a good point NanaDana, the Nike sports bra isn't really the sort of thing that would provide any support for breasts of any size, in fact it's merely a shortened version of a vest with possibly some more fibres in it, very much what my 13 year old granddaughter wears at the moment particularly as she is with us this Easter and has something similar, I imagine a precursor to an actual bra, but fine when you are on the cusp of development. Of course women come in all shapes and sizes and in that I am also agreeing with Granmarderby breasts are indeed an impediment to movement and all the more is the need for a proper sports bra when merely walking on the treadmill. That very much comes to mind when viewing this ad, and the irony here is that women, who surely it's aimed at have become superfluous in promoting a bra, a garment specifically designed to support female breasts. Would men not find it similarly ridiculous if a woman were to front a campaign say for men's Y fronts.
