Joe Biden couldn’t run anywhere. He falls asleep in important meetings. He shouldn’t have been in White House at all let alone thinking of running again.

If a judge is incapable of fulfilling their role, I wouldn't want to be up in front of them whether they are 80 or 40.

GSM thanks for the thread. Thanks for your reference to the MoJ and the 75 year age limit for our judges. My experiences of working in family and criminal courts left me with an abiding respect for our Judiciary. Good brains at work there. I’ve no issue with the 75 rule and haven’t met a judge who does.

I've wondered before how it is possible that out of the population of 330 million, there seems to be such a paucity of candidates. Perhaps those most suited have more sense than to run.

David Attenborough, age 96, only has to fulfil those projects he chooses; recently he has filmed the project closest to his heart which he always wanted to do. I do like David enormously, but he can film in short spells and can, if he wishes, do retakes.
That's not possible for a POTUS.

I like Biden. He is experienced and always seems calm.

I think the bigger 'problem' occurred in 2016, with a year left in POTUS term, Obama nominated Merrick Garland to replace Scalia. The republicans blocked the nomination, refused to vote. Less than a year later new POTUS (trump) nominated Gorsuch - who did fill the vacancy.

I know a judge. I’ve been told by that person that judges used to retire at 70. The age of retirement has been extended to 75 because there are insufficient judges coupled with the difficulty of recruiting judges. Not all lawyers want to be judges for a variety of reasons, not least the possibility of repercussions from those who disagree with their judgments. So it would seem that despite what anyone may think, those who make these rules have decided that the judges may become less competent in their judgments past a certain age and that this possibly is too serious to be allowed to happen. It is therefore not beyond the realms of possibility that the competency of others who are not judges, but may have equally responsible positions, may be less than ideal as they age.

The Supreme Court issued a 6-3 ruling overturning Roe on June 24.
Alito wrote the court's opinion. Joining him were Thomas, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Barrett.
Roberts voted with the majority but indicated he would've stopped short of fully overturning Roe.
The court's three liberal members — Breyer, Sotomayor and Kagan — dissented.

What is hypothetical in saying the majority of voters want neither Trump or Biden to stand? Seems straightforward enough to me. It’s no thank you.
