Just now

Rosie51 Sun 21-May-23 09:26:42

Germanshepherdsmum that was not my phrase and not one I'd ever use but one used by the person I've referred to who I criticised for using it at the time. I have asked for my last post to be deleted and won't use it again. I had no knowledge about the poster for whom this is very hurtful, and apologise unreservedly.

Isn't there a saying, "I am the designer of my own catastrophe"?
We all are, including M & H, in what we say and do.

Anniebach Sun 21-May-23 09:22:41

Thank you GSM

I definitely have no doubt that the terrifying car chase of 2 hours did not happen

The mention of jumpers and bridges is very upsetting for some Rosie, including one poster on this thread. Can you not find another phrase?

Agreed. And I don’t understand why it’s being used either, I don’t get it

NanaDana Sun 21-May-23 09:18:27

Just a passing thought which has helped me turn a potential negative into a strong positive.. I'm learning to actually be grateful for the unpleasant people who occasionally cross my path, because they show me a perfect example of who I don't want to be..

"I think there are many people on GN who need to get a hobby.

🤣🤣

Starting with you V3. I completely agree.

Blimey. I'm sitting in my garden 🍷 admiring my afternoon's efforts, catching up with the friendly banter on here and for a moment there I wondered what I've done 😂

Accomplished yet again volver

*Volver*, why do you habitually chose to hang out with people you clearly don’t like?

I think the majority of us know the answer to that question 😉

Subliminal anger?

Anything she doesn’t like? 🤣🤣🤣

FannyCornforth Sat 20-May-23 18:42:15

Fair enough Jacky - ‘fraternise with’ is that okay?
I have to tread lightly, let’s put it that way

Jaxjacky Sat 20-May-23 18:15:40

That’s a wee bit childish Fanny I wouldn’t call being on here ‘hanging out’ sounds like youth club.

volver3 Sat 20-May-23 17:14:25

Rosie51 I'm not suggesting anything. I'm showing you that Royals sometimes don't wear seatbelts because there is a perception that its easier to escape dangerous situations then.

I'm not supporting that, or complaining about it. I didn't write the article, so the subliminal anger that is being directed at me is a bit misplaced.

Seat belts.

www.cosmopolitan.com/entertainment/a26021583/why-royals-dont-wear-seat-belts/

sometimes royals don't wear seat belts in order to escape quickly in an emergency.

Do feel free to make a fuss about whether they are royal or not, I would expect no less.

I don't see anyone making a fuss about their royal status, but for you to toss in that red herring is no more than I'd expect.

Are you suggesting that the USA should allow our royals to break their laws? Nowhere in that article does it state they are immune from prosecution in this country let alone while in other countries. Do you think we should all have the right to opt out of wearing seatbelts in case we need to make a quick escape?

Anniebach Sat 20-May-23 16:33:57

They looked so calm

Glorianny Sat 20-May-23 16:26:13

The taxi was stationary when that photo was taken. The security man got out to clear space around the car. Presumably at that point they didn't know if they were staying in it or not. He cleared the paps away so you have no idea if they put on belts as they left or not.

M0nica Sat 20-May-23 15:47:14

sometimes royals don't wear seat belts in order to escape quickly in an emergency.

Seatbelts are designed to be quick and fast to undo, in order that they may be easy to undo in an emergency.

Do they wear special difficult to get out of seat belts? if so, why do they not wear the seat belts everyone else wears, which are easier to get out of.

It is much easier to be severely injured or killed if you are not wearing a seat belt - as Princess Diana found to her cost.

Under the circumstances I would have expected Prince Harry to be obsessive about wearing seat belts. In his situation I would.
