Callistemon No need to worry about population concerns. Most countries in the world have reproduction rates that are close replacement and most advanced countries, including the UK have a birth rate below replacement.
What is causing the current burgeoning population figures is us - you know, old people, we are living far longer than the generations before us, again not so obvious in this country although the number of people living until their 90s is very obvious, but even more so in less well off countrie, in Asia and South America.
Come the middle of the century when our generation have gone and the number of very old people, although high, will no longer be increasing, then the increase of world population is expected to sow down ans stabilise and by the beginning of the next century, may well be falling.
This is, as I understand it, is the situation re population. In this country the birth rate is falling and the powers that be are concerned about it because there won’t be enough tax payers soon to support the elderly and others who need state support, but in particular, the elderly.
