Baby number 3 due in a matter of weeks.

Norah Sat 20-May-23 13:18:45

Such a lovely blessing, I pray they are all happy.

Let’s hope we don’t have too much gushing about this like we had with baby no1.

Quite.

Less gushing, and hype.

But, I hope they have a healthy and happy baby.

... and lots of sleepless nights. grin

I can understand someone might fall for him, I don't understand how anyone could marry him and believe he would be faithful.
But who knows maybe he is older and wiser??? hmm

Galaxy Sat 20-May-23 12:44:22

Well chip off the old block or created by a chaotic childhood, maybe they are the same thing.

MaizieD Sat 20-May-23 12:42:38

Despite the cooing over the prospect of yet another Johnson baby and the optimistic hopes of him having changed his ways, I think it is deeply irresponsible to be bringing yet another child into an overpopulated world tottering on the brink of irreversible climate change.

But then, irresponsibility is Johnson's forte, isn't it?

FannyCornforth Sat 20-May-23 11:58:51

So, yes Glorianny, when you add Arcuri to his record of marital conduct, it makes you wonder

A) how he had the time to achieve high office (twice); write books (although I am given to believe that he didn’t actually do much of it himself); do any work at all, including being a constitute MP

B) how Marina didn’t go stark raving mad.

He’s certainly a chip off the Stanley Johnson block

FannyCornforth Sat 20-May-23 11:45:22

Jennifer Arcuri said that she had an affair with Johnson which lasted four years (2012-16)
Marina Johnson filed for divorce in 2019, she has claimed that their marriage was ‘impossible’

FannyCornforth Sat 20-May-23 11:41:12

Glorianny was Arcuri about while he was married to Marina? I’ll have to check.
I was just doing an account of what I know he was up to when he was married to Marina, and when their kids were growing up.
I’m sure his entire ‘romantic’ history would be even more complicated.
I imagine that when he was editor of The Spectator their were more dalliances too.
He was also previously married to Allegra Mostyn Owen

FannyCornforth Sat 20-May-23 11:36:42

Grantanow

That makes 7 or 8 kids, I think. Any advance on that?

It’s 9 (at least).
I and others said that early doors yesterday

Petronella Wyatt could attest to that too, one of the three women with whom he had an affair with while married to Marina Wheeler, the mother of his four eldest children.

Boris promised Petronella that he would leave his wife and marry her (according to Petronella’s mother).
Instead he paid for her to have an abortion.

Another of his mistresses, while married to Marina, was Helen McEntyre who had a daughter with him.

Another child has been mentioned in court records.

Boris and Marina finally split due to his affair with Carrie Symonds.
Marina was being treated for cervical cancer at the time.

It’s fair to say that his eldest children are not close to their father

You missed out Jennifer Arcuri, who got £100,000 of public money from Johnson.
But of course she only gave him computer lessons to increase his confidence!!

I know someone who whilst married has several affairs and was a crap father.

They then met the one and became totally besotted father and faithful husband.

Many many years down the line they are one of the happiest and devoted couples we know.

It happens!

At least someone loves him 😀

I wonder if he has finally matured enough to be a decent father

Lol

That was a daft thought, silly me

Galaxy Sat 20-May-23 10:36:27

Yes but I think its harmful to women and children to pretend that the risks of marrying Johnson and having children with him arent very high.
The romantic idea of 'I am the one to change him' is not a good message for our daughters, what the message actually tends to be is, he just gets too old to mess around.

MrsNemo and Maddyone no I wasn’t with them in his house thankfully but I have read accounts by his previous children (now adults) they seemed to have no time for him I m pretty sure I read that one has cut him out completely and at least one of his (outside wedlock children) he doesn’t even acknowledge ….how hurtful
You really can’t defend the indefensible well obviously you can try

No, you misunderstood, I’m not defending him, L just wondered how anyone knew what he like as a father to his other children. However if his now adult children are avoiding him, that does speak for itself.
I hope that he will be a good father to his three children with Carrie. I would hope that for any child. He’s not a young man any longer so we can but hope that he’s settled down and will be faithful and a good father this time around.
I will say that huge numbers of people get divorced and huge numbers divorce because the husband has had an affair. I’m not in any way defending that as I’ve been married to the same man for nearly fifty years, but I have friends and family where there have been divorces and infidelity. For this reason I think everyone has the right to move forward with their life and remarry or whatever. The idea of moving forward is often promoted on Gransnet and I simply think that BJ’s politics aside, he has the right to move on with his personal life and Carrie has the right, with her husband’s agreement, to have a family of her own, as she is a young woman and that is perfectly natural.
Divorce is painful. We’ve experienced it in our own family. But everyone needs to move on from it and heal.

MrsNemo Sat 20-May-23 10:23:35

I believe he has made millions from speaking tours since leaving office - or so I have read!

MrsNemo Sat 20-May-23 10:21:54

Bluebelle I wasn't in his house to observe his parenting - that's why I said he may have been inattentive - or a wonderful father. I wasn't defending BJ l - how could I? I don't know him and, like most other posters here, information comes from the media - and we all know how honest, accurate and decent reporting is.

From the Mirror no least

Exclusive: Boris Johnson paid £3.8m cash for nine-bed mansion – after 'complaints about £160k salary'

The former Prime Minister is said to have complained about his £164,080 salary while in power – but has managed to find a way to splash £3.8m in cash on a grand new manor house for Carrie and the family

Tell me how?

Oooh, what a very very very nice man (NOT sad )

*Boris Johnson can afford a large family* - not without taking out big loans he can't. I am sure he can find someone to set one up for him in return for a cushy job.

HOw did he pay for their new mansion over 3 mio in cash- I'd ask???

pascal30 Sat 20-May-23 10:02:48

I think Carrie is probably the only one who could encourage him to be a hands on father.. He seems quite content with her...I hope she is happy, she always looks so pleasant

It is also fair to say that pretending Johnson has behaved in the past like a good father is actually really damaging for women and children.
