Anyone see the awful outfit that Camilla was wearing yesterday? A bright blue very wide-legged jumpsuit. She isn't the right shape, height, age for it. Who advised her to wear it for goodness sake? Not at all flattering.

I tried to post a photo of it but it hasn't worked. Sorry.

I agree Foxy. She would have looked much better in her usual elegant clothes rather than wearing a ‘pretend uniform’. She looked to me as though she was going to a fancy dress party.

DanniRae Sun 18-Jun-23 09:34:23

I thought she looked very smart! smile

Callistemon21 Sun 18-Jun-23 09:52:56

Well, at least it wasn't the jumpsuit!

eazybee Sun 18-Jun-23 10:16:42

I didn't care for the dress; the colour yes but the stand -up collar, the epaulettes and the hat with the plume, no.

I thought she felt rather uncomfortable.

Thing is though, she has lots more opportunities to experiment with her style.

I also remembered sadly, when they were riding in the carriage, she had said how good Harry was with her grandchildren in the carriage procession following William and Kate's wedding.

Something a Clown would wear comes to my mind totally hideous.

Casdon Sun 18-Jun-23 10:26:44

Kate looked lovely though I thought, she would eclipse most other women wearing that outfit, the fashion is the best thing about the royals for me. I wasn’t keen on Charlotte’s dress either though.

Blimey…

The Queen was wearing the appropriate uniform for the occasion.

Charlotte is eight years old, she wears what her mother chooses for her. An appropriate pretty dress for the occasion, she couldn’t have turned up in leggings and a cropped t shirt.

Calendargirl Sun 18-Jun-23 11:15:12

Agree GrannyGravy.

You misunderstand me, Charlotte normally looks very nice, and she wears lovely dresses at formal occasions, but I just didn’t like the Edwardian style sailor dress she was wearing, it looked stiff and formal for a little girl - which is unusual.

Saw this, and immediately thought of QC.
To be fair, with regards to the pastiche
uniform it would be hard to compete with POW

Mollygo Sun 18-Jun-23 11:52:46

Agree GrannyGravy13, and as we well know Queen Camilla will always be ridiculed by some on the media whatever she wears. Sad, but it goes with the job.
I liked Charlotte’s dress and she looked relaxed and happy in it. I have no idea whether she was relaxed and happy so I’m only projecting my feelings on her, as we all do.

I used to love dungarees in my youth but nowadays too much faff when going to the loo. Certainly I was caught out in France with a footprint toilet which necessitated totally removing dungarees to spend a penny and I had to hang said dungarees around my neck.

I hadn't seen a full length photo , although I did see a comment that she wore a jumpsuit, the top half looks great on her , it is he usual empress line style, but I agree the very wide legs are not a good look, if they had been slightly less parachute style I think she could have carried it off tbh.

Norah Sun 18-Jun-23 15:10:19

Gracious have empathy.

It appears to me the King likes to dress in matchy costumes - coronation and trooping, she is no doubt asking his opinion and he won with the matchy red costume/uniforms. Red suits her well.

Her bust is too ample, hard to dress figure flaw, I know. She generally looks lovely -- I'd think it kind if we just posted positives.

All the blue complaints - out and about - do they match?

lemsip Sun 18-Jun-23 15:10:46

the trooping the colour outfit was a big mistake, and what had happened to her face, something not right.

Excellent comment from a friend today (I wish I’d thought of it) who said it made the Queen look like a Chelsea Pensioner!

I’m afraid she wasn’t in uniform GrannyGravy but wearing a dress “designed”:to reflect the idea of the uniform.
Not a great choice IMO, as my friend said looking for all the world like a Chelsea Pensioner or indeed reminiscent of the livery worn by the palace servants.

making her look frumpy beside Kate

I think most women in their mid 70’s would look frumpy beside Kate, and a good many younger ones also.

It’s not a contest. Catherine wore green to reflect her role as Colonel of the Irish Guards ( think that’s right!), and Camilla was wearing her outfit as a nod to her role also.

I thought she looked colourful and different.

It always garnered many comments about the late Queen’s choice of wearing ‘block’ colours. It made her stand out, but some of them were a bit in-your-face.

I expect Camilla wants to make her own mark in her choice of outfits, good on her.

You would never have seen Elizabeth 11 in a jumpsuit, at least not since becoming Queen.

How judgemental of you. We are always asked to support other women, she can wear what she likes surely, wish I had the courage to wear it.

Camilla is a public figure, not a random mum at the corner store.

So it’s OK to be judgemental?

TillyTrotter Mon 19-Jun-23 08:07:27

Just uploaded my post to the “Good Morning” thread. Doh 😣

I like jumpsuits and on women of any age. Camilla’s was a fun, bright colour and perhaps after seeing photo’s of herself wearing it she might have the legs a bit more tapered in and the length shortened.
We don’t want our new Queen tripping over her trousers.

HelterSkelter1 Mon 19-Jun-23 08:14:36

One of the best photos I have seen of the late Queen was an informal one where she was wearing a creamy coloured textured shift dress with her hands in her pockets. And laughing. So natural and relaxed. Most of the Royal occasions are pretty unatural and hardly relaxed.
I agree with everyone who said the colour suited Camilla but the material was just too heavy and stiff and the bottom half far too wide and long. A jumpsuit would have been fine, but in a lighter material and a sleeker cut.

I doubt if she has to worry too much about a wet toilet floor!

Grantanow Wed 21-Jun-23 09:51:22

I didn't realise that 'thinking' was a Royal attribute.
