Instant coffee….advice needed.
How ironic - some HMRC staff essentially committing fraud.
Voting. I’m so glad we still have the ‘old fashioned’ system…
Scottish politician Kirsty Blackman in her speech, suggested there was no concrete definition of "biological sex".
She claims she has no idea what her chromosomes are. She assumes they are probably XY
Wouldn’t you think she’d check her facts first? Or was it another ^I can’t commit myself because I’m afraid of the backlash.

Some views must always be challenged for the interest of innocent individuals and society as a whole becoming a less rubbish place.
*Which is exactly why I have to come on here to challenge your views VS. Especially since by contributing, you are guilty of scapegoating a vulnerable demographic.
As an intersectional feminist
I wouldn't agree these threads get that right
I agree, which is what's happening on these threads by those of us who are voicing our opinions in the interests of women and the trans community.
Some views must always be challenged for the interest of innocent individuals and society as a whole becoming a less rubbish place
Why do you keep coming on them then VS?
VioletSky
I do think these threads are repetitive, unproductive and a waste of valuable time as they come across as scapegoating a vulnerable demographic
Which is my right to say
But if the erosion of female rights and indeed female identity continues then discussion and protests against that must continue too.
Those who are working towards the undermining of females would prefer not to have their time wasted by female protest, I’m sure. Of course they regard us as repetitive (sigh) unproductive (only male action is important) and a waste of time and space😬
If only we’d just keep quiet and give up.

Well clearly it's a topic that is very 'current' and which people want to discuss.
Controversial and pertinent topics tend to be repetitive - because people want to thrash out the issues, so the same ground gets covered by different people. It's rather democratic as opposed to someone saying, OK, that's enough, no more discussion.
Trans women are vulnerable, but so are the women that some of them are attempting to stifle - in ways that are notoriously similar to the methods used by misogynistic men.
No one on here is questioning their existence, nor their right to exist... we are taking issue with an aspect of their belief that informs us that a trans woman with a male body is a woman. And that is not a belief that is held by all trans women, either.
I don't find these threads unproductive... there's an awful lot of information to absorb and people provide links etc. Information is never unproductive.
And you are always fairly active on these threads, too!
It was the discussions on this issue on MN which gave women a place to talk and think, many of the campaigns e.g Man Friday came directly from MN. If they were a waste if time people wouldnt be so agitated by them.

The blood donor did not walk away willingly, he was rejected !
Yes NanKate, for refusing to fill in a form. His choice to opt out of helping to save lives.
Would you have refused to help save lives just because you have to tick a box saying you are not pregnant?
I have to wonder what was behind his refusal.

It is indeed your right to give your opinion.
As you rarely, if ever, fail to contribute to these threads, you are guilty of scapegoating a vulnerable demographic. QED

I apologise for misunderstanding Lathyrus and for reacting to it
FarNorth Cancer put a stop to my blood donations many years ago, but you've reminded me that the pregnancy question was only asked of females when I used to donate.
VioletSky
They don't do different forms for different genders or even ages
Just 1 form
Tick the boxes
Walking away from saving someone's life is morally bankrupt if ticking a box got in the way
But I guess that will stick it to trans people right?
.
The blood donor forms used to say "If you are female" just before the question about being pregnant.
But now that some people are so confused about the meaning of the word 'female' I guess they have to ask everyone.
I hope that blood is now tested for sex, rather than trust what is put on forms since it is a matter of safety for patients who are given the blood.
I don't donate blood now, but in that situation I would have continued with the donation while also asking staff about the testing.
Rosie51 I’d like that meme to appear more frequently! 👏👏👏
Very good Rosie

Exactly fancythat. People trying to dictate what subjects may or may not be discussed, or rating them in a pecking order just want to control the dialogue. You have to wonder what they're so frightened of?
Herefornow
OK, if a transwoman showed up to do an exam when the patient preferred a lifelong woman, this is an issue. I'm not convinced it's the biggest issue in women's health care by a longshot though, personally i would just say "no, find another" with any person i wasnt comfortable examining me. I understand not everyone feels assertive enough to do this, which is an issue, but what about pcos, endometriosis, improper menopausal care, systemic medical gaslighting (you dont have a brain tumour ma'am you're just anxious), the fact that the pill has barely been updated for 6 decades?
Maternity discrimination = women losing their jobs erroneously because they are pregnant etc
Crippling childcare costs are a woman's concern because the vast majority of the time it is the lower paid earner (statistically this is a woman in a family) is the one who ends up dropping to part time hours to look after the children because childcare is so extortionate. This then cripples mum's career prospects because part times are statistically less likely to be afforded opportunities to demonstrate higher competence than their main job role.
The fact that I have to explain these things to a womens rights activist is flabbergasting to me.
People, including women, can think and talk about what they want.
I am always suspicious of someone else trying to dictate what is discussed and talked about.
Or told by someone else what is more important.
The word bossy comes to mind.
Its not actually specific to posters on here it's easy to see on Twitter etc.
It's a thousand different ways to say stop talking.
Damn
Reported a poster for saying she said something she says she didn’t say.
Double standards or what😬
VioletSky
Herefornow has been around for a while and isn't anyone else as far as I am aware.
New low
And yes the fact that rape prosecutions are only 1% in this country is shocking and the obvious outcome of this issue is that men who rape know they have a good chance of getting away with it. Yet the merry-go-round must continue and trans women must be thrown under all the buses
I remark on the similarity of tactics amongst posters of a similar viewpoint and am accused of saying that the posters are the same people.
A few posts ago Violetsky reported a ouste
Isn't it awful that as well as facing all of the issues that Herefornow has referred too, women are also having to fight for the right to protect their identity as women.
With regard to one form, have 3 boxes for each question, 'yes', no or 'not applicable'. Not rocket science is it.
Not a "New low" but the same old same old, when posters contributions are twisted and false accusations are made.
