Glenda Jackson has died

Such a great actor. I wish I had seen her on stage. I love Sunday, Bloody Sunday. She was wonderful as Stevie Smith (the poet) too - an underrated film, I think.

She was marvellous in 'Elizabeth Is Missing'. It might be on BBC catch-up. What an amazing woman.

Elizabeth is Missing has just been repeated on BBC4 so will be available on iplayer.

What a derogatory term for an Oscar-winning actress and serious politician who has just died!

RIP Glenda Jackson.

A remarkable actor and a formidable political activist. Primrose, she was a socialist who wanted champagne for everyone, not just the elite few. If that makes her a champagne socialist, then I'm proud to say, so am I.

Another talented person from ‘over the water’ Birkenhead gone. Memorable films and a woman of integrity (not many of those in Westminster these days).
And what’s wrong with being a champagne socialist? I’m left leaning but like a glass of champagne!

I get that this needed to be reported but yesterday this was first on the news, above all those poor people who dies in the sea off Greece. I guess some people matter more! sad.

I remember chatting to her once when she was out canvassing with the local Labour Party candidate. Wonderful actress.
