I know the last thread was taken down at the op’s request - but if anyone wants to continue discussing this major news item I’ve started this one.

Just remember the tricoteuses. That picture keeps coming to mind as I read this thread. Not all posts, obviously.

The old and female? Blimey.

... do you think we're being chastised grin?

It's the sites I'm talking about, of which I was unaware until I saw it on GN.

I've just seen the report of three.

You have just seen malicious gossip. There is no evidence. There may be some evidence ultimately, or there may not. Meanwhile, this is something close to blood lust which, sadly, the old and female seem to do best.

However, young, vulnerable adults seeking funding for their drug addiction by selling themselves in pornographic videos to older, rich, powerful men is really quite sickening.

Absolutely. And for an older, rich, powerful man to then come on TV and pose as a respectable family man compounds the felony.

I feel pretty cynical of about these so called "complainents" who ooze out from under a rock when they see a way to make money or gain a bit of fame. I am thinking of how lives were ruined after the Saville scandal when some of those accused were found not guilty. When someone is found not guilty the accusers should be counter sued to the point of bankruptcy or charged with perjury.

If the accusations are unfounded and proved to be so then the accuser could be imprisoned, as has happened.

Don't you worry that this will put people off coming forward? It is not easy to get charges of rape or sexual assault to stick at the best of times, but if a victim knew that she would be charged with perjury if a jury sided with the man, there would be even fewer rapists in court.

The 17 year old was in drugs before involved with the unnamed man Doodledog ?

I'm not sure why you are asking me grin, but yes, I think so. I assume (but this is speculation, so obviously feel free to ignore) that he wanted the money he made online to pay for them.

Nobody is suggesting that Mr X plied him with drugs, but that as an addict, regardless of age he was not capable of informed consent. much like when men have sex with girls who are drunk and are consequently charged with rape.

Is there no other news? Just sat through half hour of this on Sky. Now switched off.

The monsoons, earthquakes, wars, refugee crisis, climate change, tennis have all be put on hold while everyone discusses this major story.

Anniebach Tue 11-Jul-23 22:07:56

Police force outside of London investigated the case in April
and found - nothing

Nothing wrong with a bit of Derry Girls 😂
Me and my granddaughter howl with laughter at those girls.

Where does it say three?

Kate1959
There was the one reported in The Sun.
Then there was the one that received threatening messages.
Now we have this one who the presenter met up with.
I hope he wasn’t one of the news readers telling me to stay at home in the lockdown.

Kate1949 Tue 11-Jul-23 21:54:04

I've just seen the report of three.

Was everyone out partying or behaving inappropriately during lockdown. I was watching repeats of the office, I obviously was doing it wrong.

We didn't notice the partying because we were all staying at home as ordered by the Government via the saintly BBC.

I taught myself to crochet - when I could have been living the high life!

😂. I was watching the box set of Line of Duty, with Derry Girls as light relief
I was terrified my 10 month old grandson wouldn’t recognise me when we were allowed to meet (he did 💙)

Thanks for clarifying that Annie. For me it only confirms my concern that a man old enough to be his grandfather chose to exploit a much younger, clearly vulnerable individual

Anniebach Tue 11-Jul-23 21:37:21

Three allegations

Anniebach Tue 11-Jul-23 21:34:35

Not responsible for starting the addict on drugs

Anniebach, are you suggesting that a 17 year old who ‘was in drugs before involved with the unnamed man’ is somehow responsible ?

Adults are responsible when they exploit vulnerable young people

Oreo Tue 11-Jul-23 21:22:55

I won’t indulge in speculation.
I don’t believe I’ve said that anything adult to adult is alright on this thread.I do think that consensual texts, phone calls emails or sending images if it doesn’t break any laws is ok tho.
