She has lingered too long and she should go!

That’s just what I did, Septimia! I had planned to read a chapter to see what her books are like, with no intention of taking one out, but couldn’t get past the first couple of pages.

I took a look at one of her fiction books in the library and put it back on the shelf as it seemed to be too badly written for me to have the patience to read it. Perhaps this one will be better - but I won't be reading it to find out.

You’re right (you must be a newspaper editor in disguise). And the serialisation will lead to a very active thread here (not that any of us would read said paper of course).

What do you mean, I’ve honed my skills (such as they are) because I read the headlines of the Star every night! I always look at the Tomorrow’s Newspaper Headlines feature on Sky News before I go to bed, and theirs are always the best if you want a laugh.

I bet she wrote it when she should have been doing her parliamentary work ( which one of her ex colleagues told a friend of mine). Question is, will it be put in the fiction section with her other books?

Not sure I’d be interested in anything she has to say tbh tho she’s following in a long tradition in MP’s writing books I guess. If it was in the bargain bin I may buy it to send to a friend who has everything😄for a Xmas pressie.

Maybe it will be serialised in one of the (low rent) newspapers for those who can’t wait.

Yes, the headlines in the Daily Star will be something to look forward to in themselves - how about
‘The Lords, Flush or Bust!’
‘Rishi ate my Damehood!’
‘Pretentious Pifflers Pilloried!’
Or ‘Boris, Nadine and the Temple of Doom!’
Probably not enough exclamation marks yet, but they will be working on it I’m sure.

Has she resigned yet? 😄😄

I think she will have to before it is published.

As Bryn would say, Well I for one can’t wait.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 12-Jul-23 15:58:34

It’s not going to be on my Christmas present list. Incidentally, when was the last time she was in the Commons? Apparently she is being paid for a job she isn’t doing.

I don’t think it will feature on my Christmas list.

Casdon This could be the best seller of 2023. Can you wait!?

Easily. grin

Just saw this on ITV News.

‘It was confirmed that the MP, who had announced her intention to stand down but remains in the Commons, has written a book titled The Plot: The Political Assassination Of Boris Johnson.

It is set to be published by HarperCollins days before the Tory Party conference in September.

The former prime minister's staunch ally claims to have uncovered a "fault line" within the Conservative Party through conversations with Cabinet ministers, civil servants and party officials which form the basis of her account.

The book, for which Ms Dorries received £20,500 as a partial advance from HarperCollins, is billed as the story of "treachery and deceit at the heart of the Westminster machine".

This could be the best seller of 2023. Can you wait!?
