I agree with previous posters that at this rate a protester may die.
What I will say is that if nothing is done to save the planet from burning even more than it is then millions will definitely die.

I would be more than irritated if the ambulance I was travelling in got caught up in the protest, or I was travelling to an appointment, but one must keep a sense of perspective.

Of course they are right in what they are protesting about, but their methods are imo wrong.

The trouble is that they fear that by the time governments act it is all going to be too late, and judging by what is happening to the climate as we speak they are going to be proved right.

This isn’t a left or right issue as some like to suggest - it is an issue that should concern us all.

The police really are between a rock and a hard place aren't they? If they crack down on the protests the media scream police brutality, over-reaction, discrimination and the Police Commissioner must be called to account for all of that. If they don't crack down, the same media is screaming that the police stand by and do nothing, the Police Commissioner should be called to account. Damned if they do and damned if they don't!

The Just Stop Oil calculation is clearly that losing a few hospital emergency patients does not outweigh saving millions of lives through arresting climate change.

As long as it's not them or their families, presumably.

Because being in a car crash when you're pregnant is very worrying, the impact causes the seatbelt to tighten suddenly across your abdomen.

It happened to us when I was several weeks pregnant, not ou fault but it's frightening and you worry in case it causes a miscarriage.

Plus, these protesters KNOW they shouldn’t be obstructing people on the King’s Highways. If Police were about (rarely) they are within the law to move them off the road.

No wonder the public, some trying to get to work or attend important appointments are losing patience.

Frankly seems unlikely.

I abhor the tactics being used by these protestors. They are so wrong. But the subject, of course, is vital. I think they need to turn their energies towards targeting governments, world leaders, people who have the power to make change.

I am waiting to see if any disruption is caused at The Open Golf Championship near my home over the next 5 days there will certainly be a whole lot of disgruntled visitors to the event if they try and disrupt the event.

Maybe the Oxford student should stick to his studies instead of getting in the way of people trying to go about their lives and get to work. The tactics of Just Stop Oil are irritating at best and life threatening at worst.
I feel like carrying a banner that says Just Stop It!

What I don't understand is how on earth these protesters think that their ludicrous actions are in any way going to attract public support. Don't get me wrong, I'm as deeply worried about climate change as anyone else, but these disruptive and potentially dangerous actions are sending the wrong, negative message.

I fear that there'll be more incidents like this as people become increasingly frustrated with their pointless attempts to stop us going about our daily, legitimate business. Thoughtless.

What has global warning got to do with these intellectually arrogant louts getting their rocks off demonstrating against the government in the streets?

ER and associated companies are merely the method chosen by a self-selected self-admiring elite to polish their left-wing credentials and demonstrate against the government.

On balance their activities have contributed to glabal warming. With all the intelligence they can lay claim to surely they can think of ways of making their point that reduces their global warming. How about taking over Hyde Park and showing us how to live an energy free life there. They should be allowed to stay through a winter. How about picketing new housing developments that do not include soalr panels as standard.

There are so many constructive ways of demonstrating that makes their point, why choose the totally negative methods they use, methods that consume energy and alienate the supporters they claim to want.
