Sunak has suggested this is how he will lose fewer seats than his party dreads, in the next election. As he will be using it, from what he said, in every constituency where he can spot one, we could keep a running total or each keep a list of our own and see who comes out ahead.

I'm really not sure how he can run for the title of Nasty Party Leader any more obviously. I'm beginning to think he's had enough and would rather be back at his swimming pool counting his money.

Is that how you see my questions?

Fancy answering any of them?

It is how I see them, yes. I think you’re being provocative to nail other peoples views down so you can critique them, but you’re not prepared to say what you think yourself, which is odd. I’ll say what I think if you do it first, as I said earlier.

Wwmk2 (or Varian) It would be better to address Galaxy unanswered post, than create a bun fight over M0nica post surely?

But not so easy I agree.

If you are going to willfully disregard Galaxy important point, I would like you to look at some things M0nica has said, and I would like to think you would give it some considered thought, and comment.

1).....condescending and patronising people for the newspapers they read.....
2).....Assuming people are too stupid or mindlessly follow np...
3).....Defining themselves as more intelligent, or discriminating...

And of course that car crash of an answer to your own discriminating post ie
hate and exaggeration being whipped up on GN.....

I was simply pointing out how minorities can be discriminated against.....

Come on, your explanation is just a flight of fancy.

Why have you set yourself up as the thread arbiter Namsnanny without contributing your own ideas on any of the points you are so keen for other people to answer, I don’t get it?

I don't think newspaper reading denotes anything. I read the DM and I read the Guardian, amongst other media outlets.

Does that make me a floating voter? 🙄

Varian I read lots of right wing newspapers - and a couple on the other side and i have never once been tempted or felt even slightly persuaded to vote for eithe rof the msin parties.

There is aways something rather condescending and patronising about people who assume people who read newspapers are too stupid to read the papers critically and will mindlessly do whatever that paper (right or left) tells them to do.

What is unsaid is that the person writing things like this, and there are plenty of them, ( who is, of course, always a supporter of more left wing parties) is, by definition defining themselves as so much more intelligent and discriminating than those they look down on.

Assuming many of them belong to the opposition party, it doesn't make that the kind of party anyone would want to vote for either.

I agree with most of this - I don’t think it matters whether the people saying it see themselves as ‘left’ or ‘right’, but I agree that the condescension is annoying.

Whitewavemark2 Why did you pick out just the first tweet of Mr.Sunak’s thread on immigration? I should imagine that he mentioned the Labour Party as they have consistently voted against the Conservatives over this.

The Illegal Immigration Bill has received Royal Assent.

That’s all I saw?

It is getting a huge negative reaction, both from labour and moderate Tories, and tbh I was a tad gobsmacked when I saw it.

There is a very long thread by Mr.Sunak referring to the newly passed immigration bill, this section is being highlighted by those against the bill, I imagine they have their own agenda as do all politicians.

Actually I think we’ve got our wires crossed. I must re look at what I’ve said.

Let us just remind ourselves that over 80% of those who read newspapers in the UK, read right wing propaganda owned by foreign billionaires or tax exiles.

If you read The Daily Mail, The Sun, The Telegraph, The Daily Express< The Times, etc, you will be instructed to vote Conservative.

There will be no serious criticism of the appalling Tory governments of the last eight years, only pro-Tory propaganda.

They might have thought they were influencing me, but they were wrong.
I’ve voted conservative twice.

Forgive me Monica, but that’s exactly what you’re doing in this response too. Everybody nails their colours to one mast or another, even if it’s the ‘I’m more discriminating than all of you because I’m independent’ mast.

I'm not sure.

But I have very little faith in RS to do anything that will make any difference to anything in the near future.

I feel quite let down by both sides tbh, and feel they play us for fools.

The world has changed, party politics is backward looking.
We have problems of finding out the real truth nowadays, and in that regard both parties are wanting.

Just my opinion, for what it is worth grin

I’m not going to RT Sunak but in his desperation he has plumbed a new depth. My political opponents aren’t enemies, or enemies of the people or a ‘criminal gang’. He debases his office and forgets act as PM of the UNITED Kingdom not seek to sow division

Is this the Chris Bryant who lied in Parliament about NF (sorry I promise you I am not a NF fan, but truth will out) taking Russian money?

Why would anyone listen to a diatribe about 'not seeking to sow division' from this man?

What is your opinion of Sunak’s tweet?

I do, yes. I read the bit you quoted and could see how the thread was likely to head, so decided to stay away. My post should have been clearer - sorry.

No don't apologize (drat! always have to spell the american version), the written word is hard to follow some times, - well I find it so.
It leads me into asking all sorts of questions which don't always go down well smile

This is what we’re up against.

The Labour Party, a subset of lawyers, criminal gangs - they're all on the same side, propping up a system of exploitation that profits from getting people to the UK illegally.

I guess he is referring to this undercover investigation and it’s findings
