Am so upset and outraged that a mother was arrested with her young son by Met Police as having not paid bus fare…Mother had paid bus fare .. am physically disgusted with MET police
They have traumatised this young boy and CANNOT understand these charges..

Smileless2012 Tue 01-Aug-23 18:46:07

Exactly VS.

VioletSky Tue 01-Aug-23 18:40:03

There is no information to be had yet

Smileless2012 Tue 01-Aug-23 18:34:12

Well we don't know if DL does have the wrong information yet do we, so why don't we just wait and see if there's any verifiable information forthcoming to the contrary.

VioletSky Tue 01-Aug-23 18:12:21

🙂

DiamondLily Tue 01-Aug-23 18:11:07

Ok, I'm sure you're right. I'll shut up now, and you carry on. 🙂

VioletSky Tue 01-Aug-23 18:06:00

Diamondlily I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve but you have the wrong information from somewhere

DiamondLily Tue 01-Aug-23 18:04:23

No, but until, and if, there is a resolution, there isn't a story.

But, carry on.

Delila Tue 01-Aug-23 17:57:06

“Non-story”, “end of”, just because you say so then, DiamondLily?

VioletSky Tue 01-Aug-23 17:48:17

DiamondLily

The transport inspectors and LT police have been cleared of any inappropriate behaviour.

End of story. 🙄

Here is what you said

And also I was aware there was an investigation on going so was waiting for the outcome

Here is a link that shows it is being investigating

www.standard.co.uk/news/london/met-police-probe-handcuffing-black-woman-dodging-bus-fare-b1096700.html

Very confusing day on this thread when it needn't be

VioletSky Tue 01-Aug-23 17:42:49

Right

So no link then, pure conjecture

DiamondLily Tue 01-Aug-23 17:40:34

No, no one expects you to do anything. People still have their jobs, no one has made a formal complaint. And, no, I haven't got a link, but I do know this.

I haven't got a clue who Lord Kaley is.

What do you expect to happen?

If someone actually involved makes a formal complaint, then I'm sure someone will investigate it.

Meanwhile, it's a non story.

VioletSky Tue 01-Aug-23 17:18:32

You want photos of other people saying things on Twitter?

Happy to go find them again but they are only people like Lord Kaley?

Serious question, you want me to go through my feed and screenshot random people saying things?

Smileless2012 Tue 01-Aug-23 17:10:08

Yes, you were able to share what Lord Kaley put on social media VS. Was that not on twitter?

Perhaps DL isn't able to provide a link or can easily share where she came across the information she provided.

VioletSky Tue 01-Aug-23 16:55:42

VioletSky

According to Twitter, or X as it is now known

She was singled out to show the bus ticket

Claims she was abusive by ticket staff have been withdrawn

And then you have people like this utter joy to behold (sarcasm) saying she is a criminal and must be a drug addict

Yay UK?

I stated according to Twitter X, not according to an investigation or news article I can easily share

Smileless2012 Tue 01-Aug-23 16:51:58

And no evidence when requested VS.

Allsorts Tue 01-Aug-23 16:51:42

Exactly. That why we buy tickets and passes as evidence of paying, until mind reading is an exact science that’s how it works.

Smileless2012 Tue 01-Aug-23 16:51:23

Presumably if you'd lost your ticket VS when asked to produce it you would explain and perhaps apologise, or would you ignore whoever was asking and walk away?

I don't know if links are being produced when asked, but I asked you for evidence to support the claim on twitter you referred too earlier that this woman had been singled out, and you haven't produced any.

VioletSky Tue 01-Aug-23 16:51:22

If there isn't one for any reason, maybe just ask for your comment to be deleted so it doesn't confuse other participants expecting to see a news update or wasting time looking for one

VioletSky Tue 01-Aug-23 16:49:45

But no links when requested Diamondlily

DiamondLily Tue 01-Aug-23 16:47:29

VioletSky

If it's fine for a young black woman, it is fine for anyone right?

Manhandling vulnerable, disabled, elderly over £2 when they bought and paid for a ticket?

Well, I'm a pensioner, disabled, and maybe classed as vulnerable.

I've never been manhandled.

Because I produce my ticket/pass when requested.

It's all very easy.

VioletSky Tue 01-Aug-23 16:46:49

Strange discussion this

We must believe your word when you say something but we don't believe a black woman saying "I've done nothing wrong" with a ticket in her hand

VioletSky Tue 01-Aug-23 16:45:49

But still no link Diamondlily

DiamondLily Tue 01-Aug-23 16:45:21

It's now a non-story. We can all speculate, but there's no longer an issue.

VioletSky Tue 01-Aug-23 16:44:25

Where was she screaming apart from when her arm was twisted?

No ranting either

Can we not discuss in line with the evidence we actually have?

tickingbird Tue 01-Aug-23 16:43:08

Well if I had lost my ticket I would explain calmly and politely that I had. I wouldn’t start screaming and ranting.

She caused the trouble, upset her child and wasted police time. She obviously didn’t accept that she had to show her ticket upon request. If everyone had such a sense of entitlement there wouldn’t a train or bus service. Just comply and be on your way. It’s not difficult - unless you want it to be.
