ronib - evidence? It's not just one person using it - and it's rapidly changing over to (what they call) 'greener' fuels. Household heating and air conditioning are huge offenders too. Our worst enemy is ourselves - so many unwilling to change their convenient, comfortable habits, whatever the consequences - and carry on regardless.

What we do as individuals amounts to an enormous amount . The more people who do something, the more is done and the more pressure there is on government to do things

It is being reported that Rishi Sunak wants to roll back a whole lot of green and environment issues as a way of gathering more votes in the next election. If he carries that plan ahead and if it is successful, then it will show just how important every individual vote will be.

Have we all written to our MPs? How many times? We desperately need strong government action, now, to slow down climate change.

We cannot stop it - so, living on a dying planet is the future we leave for our grandchildren. Proud? - No - but we can, at least, set a good example and talk to them about it. We can apologise.

Drive a bus? Hilarious - I don't have a licence, never did! Still, individual action does make a tiny difference, (but no, not enough).

Easybee and everyone - what do you do to make a difference? (Some seem to believe that recycling is quite enough (to damp down those guilty feelings, that is)).

What do I do?

I don't eat meat, I don't drive (funny thing is - I have these legs - so I can walk, cycle or use public transport).

I rarely travel by air or need to buy anything new.

I have solar panels and produce far more than I use - feeding it back to the grid.

I support local groups campaigning for cleaner air.

Not much, but a little - that's what I do. What about you?

They are just pointless stunts by extremist lunatics, we are NOT going to stop oil any time soon.
Those who support their actions are just as responsible, and should be treated with the same contempt, they should just remember our entire food supply depends on tractors, trucks and other machinery running on oil.

Volunteering to drive busses would definitely stop the climate crisis. What we do as individuals is a drop in the plastic filled boiling ocean. It needs serious governmental action to limit and stop the burning of fossil fuels , ban the use of unnecessary single use plastics, protect wildlife habitats, control industrial and agricultural pollution etc etc

How extremely patronising.
People, even women, are aware of, and concerned about, climate change through what they see on screen, read in newspapers and hear on the news. They are not impressed by sanctimonious activists who draw attention to themselves, not their cause, by their anti-social behaviour.
Volunteering to drive buses in rural areas where residents are almost totally dependent on cars would be a start.

Maybe if old fashioned scientific methods were in place, we would not be in such a mess. Science used to mean a rigorous method of investigation, testing and proof. It doesn’t involve gluing activists to roads and stopping cricket matches.
Ask anyone who studies climate in a great depth and it’s obvious that it takes years to understand a fraction of what is happening. I wish climate activists could be channelled away from glue and into the laboratory.

I know - lock them all up - that will stop the climate crisis. Maybe if the government were actually doing something positive to tackle the man made pollution in our oceans and environment there wouldn’t be so many protests.

Crochet Bliss I just checked. BBC states that Matt Twist declared that these demonstrations had cost £7.7 million since April. This is an extremely large amount of money that the country cannot afford! In this case Guido was correct.

Climate change is happening right now though. We will begin to see the consequences and our grandchildren will suffer.

Even if, climate change will cost a lot more in the future, thankfully we won’t see the consequences.
