Alex Chalk the justice secretary described Anderson’s language as ‘salty’ but ‘not bigotry at all’ ‘his indignation is well placed’.
What is happening in our country when someone like Anderson is elevated then supported by our government

Lee Anderson, Conservative deputy chair says asylum seekers should ‘fuck off back to France’ if they don’t want to be housed on the Bobby Stockholm barge
(467 Posts)The language of the gutter from those who purport to be of elevated status.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard a senior politician use that word publicly before.
Says it all really. I'm not even surprised, just blame the idiots that voted these clowns in.
He says it was frustration and anger that caused him to explode because every attempt they make to do something about the illegal economic migrant crisis is thwarted by crooked legal people, sympathetic charities or lefty dogooders.
I do share his frustration because whenever they think they have provided everything people need, at the 11th hour the damper is put on, yet Labour offer no alternatives.
It’s Bibby Stockholm by the way.
Frustration can be expressed without the use of foul language Primrose.

You’re absolutely right chocolatelovinggran and I have said as much on here before. I stubbed my bare toe on a piece of furniture last week and used the same word many times I assure you!

Absolutely, what happened to self control?
I can't imagine that any of us could have spoken like that in our working lives.
Can you imagine a teacher saying 'if you don't like this school you can f off to another one'.
I don't agree with him swearing but I agree with what he's saying.
I think he will appeal to a lot of voters with his strong outspoken words especially in the Red Wall seats, just like Nigel Farage.
Well I think he speaks for the silent majority in this country. Decent, clean basic accommodation and 3 meals a day? Gym use. Free buses into Weymouth. Doctor and dentist on call. Pocket money. A mobile phone. A games room and library.
What did these migrants expect? Hotel bed and board? That’s what they’ve been hearing from their mates. It’s time to make being over here clean but basic so that a few phone calls back across the Channel put some migrants off paying extortionate fees to traffickers. We are such a soft touch. France laughs at our naïveté.
It’s time we in the UK woke up. £6 million PER DAY this is costing the taxpayer here. Yes, decent living quarters ought to be provided. But these migrants (assisted by Care4Calais and lawyers whose best interests are served by thwarting all proposals - money in their coffers by keeping this roundabout turning) need a reality check.
Totally agree with him, the crooked legal people, charities and various dogooders are enough to make a saint swear. Maybe these people can come with some sort of viable alternative other than giving them flowers, a map and a notebook.
The silent majority are silent for a reason. They haven’t got a clue. 30p Lee is straight out of the Trump playbook. 30p Lee is so called as he claimed to be able to make meals for 30p, so no one needs to use a foodbank. Johnson said “ fuck business” when he was asked something about the negative up impact of Brexit on U.K. businesses, so it’s nothing new.
He is probably voicing what many people are thinking.Pure frustration.

And how fast they come out of the wood work! So so predictable - straight out of the DM.

He should be sent to the gutter himself imo

and many, many, more, like telling people he disagrees with on Brexit they "should be sectioned"
or his terrific attitude to women

Not excusing him but maybe we’re all getting a bit long in the tooth and accept that times have changed. I live on a very quiet lane and kids go through on the way to school and nearly every word is an F.
Wasn’t Princess Anne well known for using bad language on many occasions? Angela Rayner, MP has to be one of the most foul mouthed women around, calling others “scum” and relishing saying it. We hear the F word in films, music and books all the time and on some late night TV progs. It still shocks me every time but others don’t bat an eyelid.
I will never forget some years ago a girl of 16 from a very strait-laced family turning up at a party wearing a tight black T shirt and very short skirt. The T shirt was emblazoned with “F**k me now, I’m 16.” She is now a Consultant Anaesthetist!!
I hope this thread isn’t taken down like the one this morning because of an outbreak of report button fever.
We’re adults!
Interesting that the men on Bibby Stockholm interviewed by the BBC hadn’t arrived by boat, but had arrived by plane in the UK and sought asylum at the airport. Maybe Lee Anderson didn’t realise that they had no connection at all to France. He’s not the brightest.

A lot of the money is actually coming out of our overseas aid budget ( this is never publicised) which has already been reduced. Overseas aid money that could be used to prevent people from having to escape from their own countries.
Why bother implementing an efficient and cost effective asylum process* when you can just whip up a culture war, and appeal to the basest of your base at the same time?
*what this would look like, how it would work, what it would cost, and how it would remove the need for small boats for genuine asylum seekers/thus making distinguishing illegal entries easier has been explained a score of times.
Where's all the outrage at the very slow system to process asylum applications? Why isn't everyone furious with the government wasting good money by keeping applicants in limbo - and not allowed to work?
Surely, this government has contributed to the 'problem' yet finds it so convenient to blame asylum seekers, to encourage the public to lump them together with economic migrants and everyone arriving by boat - and see it as a big problem, a major disaster - deflecting the blame from themselves, of course!

I think he speaks for an unpleasant not so silent minority.
Polling consistently shows that a much larger percentage of the population have no problem with asylum seekers.
Ch4 are reporting today that, from the results of a poll of 11,000 people, if a general election were to be held now the tories would face an absolute wipeout, retaining only 90 seats. That doesn't look to me like a population where the majority approve of the tory persecution and vilification of asylum seekers in the hope of gaining votes.
Yes, that really stood out in the news - the interview with the very valid bloke who had come by plane.
Indeed Siope - endlessly - like processing the backlog, like introducing centres outside the UK to request asylum, like actually putting real efforts into joining EU police forces
I've been shocked by the hate on here tonight. *Remember, please, that 61% of people who do apply are allowed to stay with valid reasons. The government have allowed a situation to build up and built up, then whip up hatred.
