An election looms, so I think it is time to look at all the success over the 13 years that we have witnessed from the government.

Unfortunately, sometimes things in life are the choice of the lesser of two evils. Or five.
I think people often dont know, realise or can forget this.

Getting Brexit Done.
Sorry, but yes it was important to me that the result of the referendum were respected, despite many in the HoC trying to thwart it with their myriad ‘indicative votes’. We were stymied until Boris got elected. Mind you he squandered that stinking 80 seat majority - in part due to Covid. Then the war in the Ukraine. But hey - we ARE out. Massive plus for me.

Making shops charge for plastic bags was good. I think there has been a reduction of 90% or more now most folk bring their own bags and reuse the plastic bags they've already got.

Pupil premium, meaning schools get more funding in deprived areas.

Both LibDem policies.

I'll second you Oreo with the speedy roll of vaccines and backing Astra Zenica when Trump was still in denial and telling Americans to drink Bleach. I'm a floating voter who was brought up in an area that is bound to swing back to labour.

I can think of success for the first time in our multi-cultural British Isles we have a PM of a different culture, like the SNP in Scotland.

👍 definitely a success. We have an Asian Home Secretary as well! Look how successful she has been.

Huh? Because I can’t think of a single thing? Wrong, I can.
The speedy roll out of vaccines and backing for Astra Zenica.
Since I’m a Labour supporter and confidently expect Labour to win the next election when it comes you won’t hear me praising the Tories but credit where it’s due.
Your OP about wealth told me all I need to know about this thread tho.Enjoy!

They’ll stir up the immigrant hate and promise to leave the ECHR, along with Russia and Belarus, to reclaim our sov-rin-tee and call a snap election and make it another Brexit election, and appeal to the lowest common denominator voter. Think of all the money we’ll save with no immigrants! Think of all the extra houses, doctors, schools we true Brits can enjoy ! We can truly lead you into the Brexit promised land!

Oreo

Actually an election doesn’t loom.

Tell Sunak that- he is in full throttle preparation mode. Dishing out cultural war for all he is worth, because he has zero to point to as a success.

Hetty58 Thu 10-Aug-23 11:11:46

If it's going to be in November '24 (as Sunak suggests) that's not too long. It's a little ray of hope on the horizon.

Oreo

Then why start it?

I live in hope, but no doubt will die in despair😀😀😀.

Because you can’t think of a single thing.

Hetty58 Thu 10-Aug-23 11:07:30

I can't think of anything that's been a success - but maybe someone can enlighten me?

Oreo Thu 10-Aug-23 11:07:18

Then why start it?

Whitewavemark2 Thu 10-Aug-23 11:04:53

I am fully expecting this thread to die a death very quickly.

Why?

Because there are no successes.

Goady thread alert! 😲 Enter at your own risk 😂

Whitewavemark2 Thu 10-Aug-23 10:52:30

Well, coming from me you can’t expect fulsome praise, but honestly? If I could find something I would.

Oh I know! If you are wealthy you have done very well - so that can be marked as a success.
