Historic Trump mugshot released after arrest in Atlanta, Georgia www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-66612345

This is hardly even a legal mugshot as he is not looking straight into the camera. However I have rarely seen anyone manage to look so evil. Why do so many Americans believe in him? I can only think that they are brainwashed.

Well we have had one of our own so let's not berate the Americans!

As much as I loathe everything Johnson stands for, I would not put him in the same category as Trump.

Johnson, for all his bumbling buffoonery is an intelligent man. He is, like Trump, a narcissist - but he has a self-awareness, a cunning, devious, self-awareness, but self-awareness just the same, that Trump simply does not have the intellect for.

Johnson knows he's a bluffer... Trump is so far 'gone', he believes his own narrative. Johnson will 'move-on' to other things... Trump will never get over the fact that he lost the Presidency, I believe he'd even tolerate civil strife / war in the US rather than admit that there was no "steal".

I do love how people profess to know a certain person's traits, without knowing them at all.

Well, I think their 'traits' become fairly obvious after a while.

Of course, we don't know these "certain people" in depth, but the narcissism of both men is widely recognised and acknowledged.

An acquaintance who visited America recently was informed earnestly by a hotel guest that Melania was in hiding because the Bidens are going to kidnap her....
You can buy Melania cakes in her home town in Slovenia where locals are, apparently, a little puzzled at her C.V.

Ha😏! … neither President nor James Bond Villain. Just a narcissistic plonker.

RosesandLilac Sat 26-Aug-23 06:25:44

Apparently there’s already merchandise for sale with his mugshot on 🙄
I totally agree Ladyleftfieldlover, the sickening hero-worship of this ghastly, ignorant oaf is frightening; I cannot fathom how anyone can think he’s such a great person.
God help America, heaven knows they need it 😵‍💫

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 26-Aug-23 05:28:14

It seems to me that around half of all Americans are in the midst of some sort of mass delusion. An ex-reality tv show host appears to have somehow bedazzled ordinary men and women into believing that he is their saviour. It doesn’t seem to matter how many courts threw out his complaint that the last election was ‘stollen’ (his spelling) they remain transfixed by him. If he is the Republican candidate and loses once more, I fear the January 6 debacle will look like a Vicarage Garden Party. If he wins, I am afraid that the USA is lost.

"Cheating democrats?"?

After dozens of investigations and court cases, nothing was found to support his allegations and yet he continues to stir up supporters. One of many sources reporting the same:

thehill.com/homenews/campaign/3559758-conservative-group-finds-absolutely-no-evidence-of-widespread-fraud-in-2020-election/

nanna8 Sat 26-Aug-23 02:28:34

That picture will win him more votes because it looks like he is fighting back the cheating Democrats. He knew very well what he was doing when he released it. I have a sneaking admiration for him because, talk about a super salesman, he is IT, personified.

I was talking with a person I respect , who is very intelligent. She said she would vote for Trump over Biden any day. Things are different there !

Not for the majority here. He's a buffoon with scary influence. He doesn't believe in half of what he says and will do anything to gain followers. It's all he cares about. angry

I just saw this thread title and knew exactly what it meant (being from the US and all). I've read that he's probably capitalizing on looking like a Marvel or DC villain and also that he's using his extensive experience in being photographed (as well as being a a narcissist) to know what head poses will limit the unsightly neck folds and such. Not sure what's happening here. The past years have felt like the Twilight Zone. confused

Barron will be 18 on March 20th 2024 so just a few months to go.

Callistemon21 Fri 25-Aug-23 23:16:56

Marmin

Where is Melania? She seems to have disappeared.

How old is Barron?
Is she hanging on until Barron is 18 in case she might lose custody?

Callistemon21 Fri 25-Aug-23 23:15:16

That picture literally sends a chill down my spine. However, I saw a programme some years ago and his father Fred Trump also had a rather scary look in his eyes.

I can't believe Trump was happy with that photo. Maybe it was fixed. If they took a series of fast-shutter clicks it would be easy to find a bad one amongst them. The most evil one. And as mentioned, it doesn't look like a mug shot.

I can't believe Trump was happy with that photo
Trump has put that mugshot out, I think, Chestnut.

I'm assuming "potty" wasn't the look he was going for.
Ailidh 😂😂😂

Georgesgran Fri 25-Aug-23 23:08:50

I think he looks deranged.
It’s really unbelievable and dangerous knowing how a section of the American public is so in awe and supportive of him.

Chocolatelovinggran Fri 25-Aug-23 19:20:16

To mix up two threads, I wouldn't let him use my loo if he was delivering to my house....

Apparently he is way ahead of all the other potential Republican candidates, even with all this hanging over him, as, unbelievably, his popularity rises with every accusation against him.

Inevitable.

Those who believe he speaks for them and represents their principles and ideals, will take any maligning of him as a personal challenge as well as an insult to their hero.

I think he really could murder someone - and they'd find a good reason why he had to do it.

Worse individuals than him have been defended for their crimes. An irrational mind cannot tolerate being challenged - such a challenge is interpreted as a vendetta.

NotSpaghetti Fri 25-Aug-23 18:22:47

He has apparently tweeted a copy of it himself!

Kandinsky Fri 25-Aug-23 18:03:27

He’s loving the attention.

biglouis Fri 25-Aug-23 14:09:07

Part of his appeal is his "lets look after our own people" theme which is always going to be popular with a section of the populace. There are many people who dont want their tax money squandered in foreign wars or on housing and subbing out aliens. I am 100% in favour of that argument.

I bet he practised that look in the mirror for ages. So vain.

😂
I bet you’re right
