May I ask what others think of Trump's 'mugshot' photo, which is now evidently on banners, mugs, baseball caps etc?

He could be disbarred from standing for election, see below:
That disqualification argument boils down to Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution's 14th Amendment, which says that a public official is not eligible to assume public office if they "engaged in insurrection or rebellion against" the United States, or had "given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof," unless they are ...

I actually surprised the Republican Party are supporting him as strongly as they are, if they were to ditch Trump and nominate De Santis (or other) they would be less divisive.

That may still happen but it doesn’t look likely, it’s all about Trump and not the Republican Party, he portrays himself as the victim as a tactic it might work there are lots of victims in the US so don’t write him off.

If he was re elected I'd write off the people of America. How could they be so daft?!

Grandma70s Sat 26-Aug-23 21:09:53

I think he looks like a very cross toddler who doesn’t want his photo taken. The fact that he is popular with some Americans baffles me - though when my son met some Americans on holiday the first thing they did was apologise for Trump.

He’s a total, nasty idiot and how anyone can see any different
I ll never understand just explains how Hitler was so popular with so many

It is hideous, but comparing him to Hitler, really. Don't remember seeing any extermination camps in America. Oh are you just talking about his magnetism for some of the American people. Well Obama had the same magnetism.

It is his use of invalid information, his racism and rhetoric that plays on the uniformed right wi

Make that the world.

He poses a very serious threat to Ukraine and thus Europe, together with Taiwan and the far East.

It really is too worrying to think about.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 26-Aug-23 21:37:42

And of course just like all Mafia heads he has scores to settle.

A revolting man, a dangerous man , a mad man !

VioletSky Sat 26-Aug-23 23:49:01

His expression is that of a small child told they can't have a biscuit before dinner

The "I hate you forever you big meanie" look

Supernana1 Sun 27-Aug-23 00:04:47

I think the photo is hilarious. Like a grumpy child.

I love it. It is so him and will get him loads of votes, unfortunately.

Jackiest Sun 27-Aug-23 11:43:48

I think he planned the photo well and don't under estimate the stupidity of some Americans.

I can’t believe this poor excuse of a man has convinced so many that he is a suitable person to be president of a country like America. To the world he is a total embarrassment but to his huge fan base, whatever he says or does, however criminally he behaves, he is the best. It’s astonishing. Can anybody explain the attraction.? I just don’t see it.

HousePlantQueen Sun 27-Aug-23 15:57:58

He is a very dangerous man with his links to Putin, who it is rumoured, is responsible for putting Trump in office. Trump is deranged for sure, but more worrying to me is his fan base. We are witnessing the decline of the USA, a slow decline such as happened with the Roman Empire, but witnessed on social media this time. When I hear Obama speak, I am reminded of how far the country has fallen; he was a man of integrity, faithful to his family.

He’s been taking scowling lessons from Prince Harry.

Hitler used violence and murder to gain power.
Not quite the same.

If we dont stick to facts, soon enough gossip becomes someone's truth.

I do agree that every inch of him does not look presidential 😂
I'm not sure he acted like one either
But then again who has since JFK?
And his private life was a bit chaotic.
