I came across this article posted on MN.
It strikes me as very perceptive as Harry yet again drags up his mother’s death at the Invictus Games.
It’s so inappropriate and disrespectful to those thousands of injured servicemen and their relatives that an over-privileged, extremely wealthy individual constantly turns the subject to himself.

Well a fair few of us don't feel a lot of resentment towards Will and Kate for showing off their unearned wealth qhilst pretending to care . Harry and Meghan are making their own money and its not the British Public don't have to give two hoots about whether they're successful as they're not leeching off us.

Loads of people make a living off the Royals includinf Camilla Tominey, GBNews, Giles Brandeth so why shouldn't Harry. There is enough sycophantic stuff written about them so its nice to have balance.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are not on Instagram with their children feeding chickens or on the beach

No they just parade them before the public and the press pack regularly.
The chicken photos are from over a year ago and were part of the documentary . How they got on Instagram is questionable.

Very wise of Charles,

Joseann Thu 07-Sept-23 13:37:35

Apparently, Charles' diary is too busy to see Harry during his visit.

Maybe Charles is too busy brushing up his French language skills for when he addresses France's Senate on the royal state visit.
The Élysee Palace's announcement is funny because they are lumping the King's visit in with the Rugby World Cup!
I will be in France for the next few weeks, so I shall watch with interest. 🤴 🏉 🇫🇷

The Prince and Princess of Wales have photographs taken in an official capacity as they fulfill what they regard as their duty. They also release family photographs periodically because of an unofficial agreement with the press to keep their children out of the range of unsanctioned shots.

Harry and his wife declined to be part of the working royal family, and have discovered (Harry in particular) that their life now is not as privileged and as comfortable as they imagined it would be; they have to support themselves in part by their own efforts, and are not nearly as successful as they had anticipated.
Hence they exploit their royal connections for money, in increasingly unpleasant interviews and books in which Harry, in particular, blames everyone else for his inadequacies.
It is this which has sparked so much resentment.

Oh i see what you're asking now. I haven't defended Meghan. I think she probably has arranged pap shots but so have Will and Kate.

WellsRose Thu 07-Sept-23 12:14:38

Sorry i don't understand the question

Anniebach Thu 07-Sept-23 11:59:51

I bitch you defend WellRose. ?

So arranging pap shots all celebrities do including the Royals. William when he selling the Big Issue and Kate appearing at the Sarah Everard memorial service (yep using a murdered woman for publicity).

This wasn’t bitching ?

Will he make the awards about the recipients or himself

Just like the documentary the awards will be about the participants. The only people making these things about Harry is the British media. Why focus on one short speech in a series which has 5 episodes each about a different Invictus athlete? Possibly because it feeds the needs of those people who simply want to castigate the couple, or because showing the positive aspect of the documentary might alter the public perspective on Harry which cold lead to criticism of the royal family.
It is the British media ignoring the athletes nothing to do with Harry.

And the bitching has started already.

I can't wait to see those amazin brave kids.

Oreo Thu 07-Sept-23 11:31:03

He’ll be going to it to accept an award himself I bet 😁

Good for him. Let's make the awards about the recipiants not bitching about the patron.

Prince Harry is due to arrive in UK TODAY as he makes fleeting solo visit to attend tonight's WellChild Awards on the eve of the anniversary of the Queen's death - but Meghan won't join him

The only information I see about Harry is via the Telegraph; they published the photographs discussed here , they printed the article about the Invictus games headlining Harry's whingeing, and today there is an article about Omid Scobie's latest 'book', targeting Prince William.
None of which I read, but the headlines and photographs are impossible to avoid.
Someone is paying a lot of money to get these articles circulating in the press.

Why would The Telegraph do that? So rather than headline the athletes, they use Harry to whip up more hatred. Mind you the Royal's Brown Noser Camilla Tominey works there.

I think it's so misoginistic to expect a woman to face aa mob of cameras looking glamourous and wearing heels. The Queen didn't have to. We don't need to see the baby until the mother is ready. What kind of husband puuts his wife through that?

silverlining48 Thu 07-Sept-23 09:57:32

I was in hospital a and e yesterday and picked up a scandal mag full of slebs I had never heard of other than the royal family. I learned that p.Andrew was photographed in a car with William and Katherine.
Riveting? No.

Glorianny Thu 07-Sept-23 09:41:29

I don't understand why anybody wants or needs to know what was there, who was there, or anything else about how anyone gave birth. Nor why Harry's jacket was of interest to anyone. It does seem to me that those people who castigate the couple for being media hungry and publicity obsessed, are in fact obsessed themselves, and take every opportunity to read about, scrutinise images and lap up information about the couple, just apparently, so they can castigate them some more. It isn't just weird it's unhealthy.

WellsRose Thu 07-Sept-23 09:37:52

I think if you're brought up to be king, you would have a huge sense of entitlement and expect to have a wife and mistress. He didn't count on Diana not putting up with it

No it doesn’t exonerate Charles, he was not involved with Camilla when he married Diana

According to Charles, that is

Amazing, he has affairs before his marriage, and after his marriage to Diana had broken down. But in the interim he still talked with Camilla as ‘just a friend. ‘

He was a 30 year old man who married a 20 year old girl, with stars in her eyes, when he didn’t love her. Sired 2 children on her and then lost interest.

Any other bloke who did this would be considered an out and out bounder.

This has bothered me.
Isn't his jacket doing up the girl's way?

it's meghan's. was in the news.

Ah, thank you lemsip. That explains it!

I’m not interested in H&M, but I do like Beyoncé. Everybody who is anybody has been wearing silver for her Renaissance tour, it’s a thing. I’d imagine Harry didn’t possess anything silver of his own to wear so this was a last minute fix.
