Harry, Meghan and the Invictus Games

Now the Invictus Games have finished, it was a triumph for M&H who showed what they were capable of, mixing and socialising with the competitors and their families with ease and enjoyment. They have been widely praised in other countries. Coverage here seemed to be patchy. Which seems a bit strange and not right for the competitors. But can anyone doubt that the couple could have been a great asset, and modernised the RF, or that Meghan looks so much happier and more relaxed than when she was subjected to royal protocol?

M&H look happy. And so they should. They lead a charmed life, lucky things. Plenty of money, beautiful children, a gorgeous Montecito home. Good luck to them. Just ‘get on with it now’ and stop moaning and slagging off your relatives!

The people in the picture, I don't watch sport

Callistemon21 Sun 17-Sept-23 15:27:27

What matters is the competitors.

VioletSky Sun 17-Sept-23 15:20:39

They look happy, that's all that matters

Joseann

Forgive me asking Glorianny, but why are you showing a photograph of the 2017 Invictus Games when H & M's romance was at its beginning?? Of course they looked loved up then!!

So it is!!
😁

Still happy though! 🙂

PR for the Markles is not what these games are about. Lets hope next time they can find somebody less self absorbed to front these events.

Joseann Sun 17-Sept-23 14:05:17

Non existent coverage here in France, but then le rugby is a real tour de force, and gearing up for the Olympics is well underway.
I hope the Invictus Games went well, but why anyone would bother to solely analyse H & M's body language, or Meghan's clothes at the event by starting a thread beats me.

So what?

Sparklefizz Sun 17-Sept-23 13:41:15

Glorianny* The white jacket she wore proved so popular the website selling it crashed. It was J Crew.

No it wasn't. It was a designer jacket costing nearly £1,500. Plus she wore tens of thousands of pounds worth of jewellery.

DiamondLily Sun 17-Sept-23 13:32:23

Huge success all round. Congratulations to all involved.👍

The competitors are amazing and an inspiration and I truly admire them. But H&M .... not so much ;)

Hiraeth Sun 17-Sept-23 13:29:10

And like Harry said in one of his speeches . The competitors didn’t let fear control them and they are all an inspiration for all of us .

Anniebach Sun 17-Sept-23 13:28:25

Harry and his wife certainly don’t support their families

Hiraeth Sun 17-Sept-23 13:23:38

I live in Germany and went to see the Invictus games 3 times . Meghan and Harry did a brilliant job cheering the competitors on and praising them for the courage in taking part . Amazing the families supporting each other and so proud . All wounded warriors and all brothers and sisters helping each other .

Anniebach Sun 17-Sept-23 13:18:50

He has even told how he went to Balmoral and saw his grandmother’s body

yggdrasil Sun 17-Sept-23 13:18:08

I wish those who comment on H & M would add the sources where they found the information. There is no media I can think of that wouldn't slag them off for their own reasons

Jaberwok Sun 17-Sept-23 13:11:49

Nothing can redeem Harry's treatment of his 'much loved??!!' grandparents ,not for me anyway. Neither of them, who loved him and did their best for him over the years, deserved such shabby behaviour. He must have a heart of stone with the untruthful accusations he labeled them, the family and this country with. Awful man.

nanna8 Sun 17-Sept-23 12:58:23

I’m glad they are redeeming themselves somewhat. They need to after the lies they have told.

FenellaFootstrap Sun 17-Sept-23 12:43:42

And Harry finished the games with a speech advising the veterans not to "define themselves by their backstory

Oh the irony! grin

Anniebach Sun 17-Sept-23 12:20:05

The school run and she had to buy milkshakes

Mollygo Sun 17-Sept-23 12:18:06

Eazybee
And I thought Meghan looked a bit rough, actually.

Some of our parents look a bit rough after doing the school run, especially those who don’t have a car.

I didn’t see his speech. Did he really say that?

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

You can see the whole speech here. The back story quote is misrepresented.

Yes I can and I do (doubt); as usual it was all about them.

If your idea of modernising the royal family means behaving like that pair, no thank you. She hasn't been subject to royal protocol for two years.
And I thought Meghan looked a bit rough, actually.

Britain’s Monarchy is dying and no PR can save it.
