I’m not sure what is ‘obvious’ - you seem to be suggesting some sort of conspiracy? You didn’t mention the link when it was made, but brought in Operation Yewtree, and my comments were in relation to that.
Nobody is accusing Fox of sexual misconduct AFAIK, but the proof of his misogyny is clear, and was broadcast for the world (well, viewers of GB News anyway) to see. It is a fair cop, and his suspension/sacking is fair punishment. If it is the catalyst to his getting therapy (or better therapy) and a break from being in the public eye, then so much the better. The worry is that he might become even more bitter and unpleasant, as he will still have supporters of his views.

Lawrence Fox
(382 Posts)He has been suspended by GB News for comments made about a female reporter Ava Evans , " who would want to s**g that, the comments were made in reply to something she has said about male suicide. Why do these misogynistic men think that their penis is the thing that women crave? Grow up and get real , Sex is not the B all and end All of everything, and they way they wave it about who in their right mind would.
Suddenly Lawrence Fox is connected to Russel Brand , much is so obvious
I didn’t say I accepted anything. I said that put together, seemingly unfounded accusations can form a case. Not the same thing at all.
Thank for replying Doodledog you are accepting every accusation as truth , I cannot do that , not in defence of the accused, I truly do not know .
The BBC Politics Live programme hosted by Jo Coburn with panellists Damian Green MP, Baroness Frances O’Grady, comedian and writer Geoff Norcutt and political correspondent Ava Santini Evans took place on 25 September 2023.
Fourteen days earlier on 11 September 2023 this was published:

www.gov.uk/government/publications/suicide-prevention-strategy-for-england-2023-to-2028/suicide-prevention-in-england-5-year-cross-sector-strategy
Note it is signed by Maria Caulfield MP Minister for Mental Health.
It was reported in the press:

Note in this BBC video at 39 minutes Ava Santini Evans says, In my mind there should be a Minister for Mental Health.

What was nobody aware of this?
All of this controversy could have been avoided and GB News would have gained more credence as a serious disruptor news channel by criticising the BBC for airing a politics show where neither the host not the guests were aware of what had been published by whom and when. They all need to wake up.
I just typed a reply and it has vanished.
Annie - KR will have known it would be dangerous to accuse RB directly. He is rich and litigious, and how would she prove anything if the women who had confided in her were too scared to come forward?
‘Innocent until proven guilty’ applies in court, but not outside of it. Someone can make an accusation without proof (as did hundreds of women and girls against Savile) and it might not make a case, but it might when put with other accusations. I could report a stolen car and say a tall fat man and a short thin one drove it away. Not enough on its own, but if several people also reported car thefts involving people following that description the police and CPS could act.
At that point it can go to court and ‘innocent until proven guilty’ will apply. There is nothing to stop me telling the neighbours what I’d seen, or to stop others doing likewise, and if the two men are identified from that, so be it.

Namsnanny so you love my one liners?
well here's a few more lines.
Laurence Fox launches a fresh attack on Ava Evans after being suspended for sexist rant... as GB News descends into further chaos with more infighting and execs warning staff that broadcasters do not have a 'right to abuse'
He appeared mostly upset at the "wall-to-wall" media coverage his outburst is receiving.
For someone very much in the public-eye, and supposedly 'aware', I'm surprised he's surprised... surely he knows by now that this kind of debacle - on-air spats - is meat and drink to the media? And it will run until it' s replaced by something else equally 'newsworthy'
Perhaps GB News should have chosen the panellists, and those they wanted to talk to on air about something as sobering and alarming as the statistics on male suicide, more selectively; a political correspondent who likes to "distance herself from men" and a shock-jock, were maybe not the best choices.
I've just re-watched the rapper, 'Professor Green' (Stephen Manderson) talking about experiencing anxiety at a young age and not knowing how to deal with it, and his own father's suicide (his uncle also took his own life a few years earlier) He might not be most people's idea of a mental health activist, but he articulates mental health problems from a male perspective coherently and sensitively.
"talking about things, regularly - gives them less power over you"

11 minutes long, but worth watching.
Katherine Ryan had not been subjected to abuse and she -believed not knew

Is it fair to say ‘it’s widely believed who she meant’ , who can forget Operation Yewtree ?
I haven't forgotten it, and also remember the hundreds of victims who spoke out but weren't believed, and couldn't get justice because they were up against a famous man and couldn't prove something he made impossible to prove.
There has to be a way for victims to get justice, and if several unconnected women say that the same man did the same (specific) thing to them there is no reason to assume that they are making it up.
Is it fair to say ‘it’s widely believed who she meant’ , who can forget Operation Yewtree ?
On desert island discs today, Katherine Ryan, a comedian was asked about an interview with Louis Theroux where she talked about a male comedian she believed to be a dangerous sexual predator. She didn’t name RB but it’s widely believed that’s who she meant. She said she hadn’t been subjected to abuse so didn’t feel able to name the man she believed to be a predator
It’s a minefield. It reminds me of working in various teams/offices when other women warned you to avoid x

priti patel on the camilla tominey show now.
I love your one liner GBN up dates lemsip
I've started to look out for them!
Getting back to the original point Fox reduced a woman to the sum (zero) of his sexual interest while the presenter sat and giggled.
Pathetic!
priti patel on the camilla tominey show now.
I leave too
Called out held to account and on your way ha ha
I think I will leave this debate now as it appears to have derailed completely and search for my tin-foil hat instead.
Read the messages above where people say they are being aggressive towards be - totally laughable
I agree with Grandma French - but think that media and influencers have directed public opinion there and they have a huge influence on public opinion today - people are afraid to have a different view as they are often vilified too
Pragmatist
There you go - foxie totally agrees with be aggressive to me too Ha Ha
Eh?
Perhaps some should focus on my opinion rather than your opinion of me
There you go - foxie totally agrees with be aggressive to me too Ha Ha
I simply think Fox has not had a balanced trial by media while Ava gets away with it and her old tweets are all deleted from sight
Pragmatist
Ha Ha - you must be right then - thanks for proving my point again
I also totally agree with Dickens but tbh have absolutely no idea what "your point" is. Would you mind making it clear to me?
My posts are not aggressive - just an opinion - read Dickens post - he admits his commemts are openly agressive to me - I do not see why you think I am agressive
